42nd Street's renowned music venue, B. B. KING BLUES CLUB & GRILL, is celebrating a milestone birthday this summer.

Spencer Day announces his residency at the iconic Upright Cabaret on March 11th, 18th, 25th and April 1st. Drawing vocal comparisons to Michael Buble and John Mayer, and his compositions to those of Cole Porter, Paul Simon and Rufus Wainwright, Spencer Day's residency will feature performances from his adventurous album Vagabond (Concord Records), currently a Billboard Top 10 Contemporary Jazz Album, as well as past favorites from previous releases. Through his residency at The Upright Cabaret, Spencer will join an esteemed group of diverse talent who have played at the venue including American Idol's Adam Lambert, Glee star Lea Michele, Neil Patrick Harris, Grammy Nominee Taylor Dayne and many more.

Many theater-goers today have a keen sense of what 'musical theatre' should look like. For some, a Rodgers and Hammerstein classic fits the bill. "Idol" surprised viewers tonight, sending the gentlemen on to perform instead of the previously scheduled women. At the top of the episode, Ryan Seacrest explained that fan favorite Crystal Bowersox was taken to the hospital and was recommended to not perform by her doctors. "Idol" producers, as well as the guys themselves, were accommodating and decided to go tonight and allow Bowersox the night to rest.

Today, Friday, February 19, Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops announced details of the orchestra's 125th anniversary season, May 4-June 20, 2010, outlining programs that celebrate the orchestra's rich tradition of performing the great music of this country's past and present, for which the Boston Pops is so well known.

Gabi Epstein is another up-and-comer on the Toronto theatre scene performing a Cabaret night this month, and hers is going to focus on music from the late nineties. Entitled Gabi's Chill Mix, the Cabaret-style evening will take place on February 20th at 10PM and feature songs from Hawksley Workman, Pearl Jam, Lisa Loeb and more.

The first round of Hollywood auditions on 'American Idol' brought the welcome addition of Ellen DeGeneres to the judging panel. Ellen replaced Paula Abdul, after Paula was not hired back for 'Idol's' ninth season. Ellen was a refreshing change to panel, being brutally honest to the contestants, as well as providing several amusing comments about the performances.

The 'American Idol' auditions made their last stop tonight, visiting Denver, the home to one of the biggest rock stars to come from 'Idol,' Daughtry. Since season five when Daughtry appeared on the show, the number of auditions to be the next 'American Idol' more than doubled, bringing the total number of contestants in Denver to over 9,000. Guest judge Victoria Beckham was back on the judging panel, bookending the auditions after joining the show on its first stop in Boston.
