Alice Ripley, Laura Osnes, John Treacy Egan and More Set for Music Conservatory of Westchester Dinner Honoring Barbara Cook, 6/23

Music Conservatory of Westchester will take you from the greens and the courts to The Great White Way on Monday, June 23rd for its 13th Annual Golf and Tennis Classic at Whippoorwill Club in Armonk. Following a day of fun competition, the not-for-profit community music school will hold a Broadway-themed awards dinner honoring iconic performer Barbara Cook and acclaimed conductor John Mauceri with lifetime achievement awards.

Kennedy Center to Host AN EVENING WITH PATTI LUPONE AND MANDY PATINKIN, 2/18-23

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin February 18 to 23, 2014 in the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater. Appearing together again after their Tony Award winning performances in Evita, Patti LuPone joins Mandy Patinkin onstage for eight performances. Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin are two of Broadway's most venerated performers, having both won a Tony Award for their performances in Andrew Lloyd Webber's groundbreaking Evita in 1980. Since then they have both starred in film, television, the concert stage and back to Broadway. An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin brings them together again - at last. Press opening night is Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 7:30 p.m.

The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Announces Holiday Programs

MILWAUKEE, WIS. 11/12/2013 – The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra announces a variety of holiday performances for the 2013 season. The holiday performances kick off with Canadian Brass Holiday on December 4, 2013, performing holiday songs in their signature style, led by Associate Conductor Francesco Lecce-Chong. On December 6-8, 2013, Holiday Pops Spectacular takes the stage with guest conductor Stuart Chafetz, vocalist Mike Eldred, Milwaukee Symphony Chorus, Milwaukee Children's Choir, Milwaukee Youth Chorale, and Milwaukee Handbell Ensemble in a performance filled with seasonal favorites, sing-alongs, and holiday tunes.

Anne-Sophie Mutter to Celebrate 25th Anniversary of Carnegie Hall Recital Debut, 12/14

On Saturday, December 14 at 8:00 p.m., violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter gives a concert celebrating the 25th anniversary of her Carnegie Hall recital debut with pianist Lambert Orkis. The performance, which also pays tribute to the duo's longtime artistic partnership, features world premieres by composers Krzysztof Penderecki and Andre Previn, commissioned by Ms. Mutter.

Apollo Digital, by arrangement with the Royal Albert Hall, presents a three-date tour of Danny Elfman's Music from the Films of Tim Burton, which celebrates the extraordinary collaboration between the acclaimed composer and visionary filmmaker. The world premiere of the event at the Royal Albert Hall is today 7 October 2013, which has already sold out, will be followed by dates in Leeds, Glasgow and Birmingham on 8, 9 and 10 October respectively.

Patti LuPone to Return to Carnegie Hall for Single Performance, 11/7

Tony Award winner and Broadway star Patti LuPone returns to Carnegie Hall on Thursday, November 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, presenting her solo show, Far Away Places-a travelogue of styles and stories that traces the actress's wanderlust with songs from the likes of Kurt Weill, Cole Porter, and Edith Piaf, conceived and directed by Scott Wittman, and with music direction and arrangements by Joseph Thalken.

A third and final show, on Wednesday, October 30 at 8:15 pm, has been added ofDanny Elfman's Music from the Films of Tim Burton, a unique concert with the Hollywood Symphony Orchestra and the Page LA Choir conducted by John Mauceri, at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE. Performances were already announced for Tuesday, October 29 at 8:15 pm, and Halloween, October 31 at 8:15 pm, which is sold out.

A second show, on Tuesday, October 29 at 8:15 pm, has been added of Danny Elfman's Music from the Films of Tim Burton, a unique concert with the Hollywood Studio Symphony and the Page LA Choir conducted by John Mauceri, at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE. The first show on Halloween, October 31 was sold out, 12 minutes after it went on sale.

Velma V. Morrison: A Celebration of Her Life, Presented by The Morrison Center, 9/22

The Morrison Center announces a Celebration of Velma V. Morrison's life on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Velma V. Morrison Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Boise State University (2201 Cesar Chavez Lane). The event will honor Velma for her support of our community and contribution to the arts. The program will include guest speakers and a free concert by Tony Award-winner Brian Stokes Mitchell ('Kiss Me Kate', 'Man of La Mancha') accompanied by the Boise Philharmonic under the musical direction of Robert Franz. Outside of select seating held for the family and speakers, seating will be open to the public and on a first-come, first-served basis. No ticket is required. Parking is free. The community is encouraged to attend.
