Syfy has inked actors Chris Diamantopoulos (Broadway's 'The Full Monty', 'Les Miserables') and Jake Sandvig for starring roles in HIGH MOON, a 90-minute pilot

Paramount Pictures, a division of Viacom, Inc., and Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that principal photography on 'INTERSTELLAR' is officially underway in Alberta, Canada.

The Walt Disney Studios unveiled new details about its upcoming animation slate this morning at the D23 Expo, showcasing new imagery, signature music and behind-the-scenes stories surrounding the roster of upcoming animated adventures. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Neil Patrick Harris will be among the voice cast of Pixar's upcoming animated adventure THE GOOD DINOSAUR.

Promoting THE WAY HE WAS, Hamlisch's widow Balir Hamlisch revealed during the TCA press tour that her late husband 'had a very large music library... there's a lot, some unpublished,' said Blair Hamlisch. 'It's floor-to-ceiling, and I've been told it's one of the largest of a modern day composer.'

Bellarine Theatre Company continues their tradition of bringing some of the area's top young talent to the stage with Footloose, the onstage musical adaption of the hit 1984 movie. The film starred Kevin Bacon in a breakout performance as Ren McCormack and John Lithgow as Reverend Shaw Moore. It also featured Sarah Jessica Parker, Chris Penn, and Dianne Wiest. The film was a hit at the box office and resulted in a remake in 2011. The musical version of Footloose debuted on Broadway in 1998.

Should things work out, he would join previously announced Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine, Casey Affleck, John Lithgow, Bill Irwin, Topher Grace and Mackenzie Foy.

This summer Broadway actress Sara Gettlefinger is joined by regional theatre actress Jessie Withers as well as local actors, Tessa Cavaletto, Nicole Dille, Daniel Hernandez, Terry Lewis, Kyla Martin, Harrison Mills, and Mark Rogers in the Central Valley premiere of Grey Gardens at StageWorks Fresno. Joel C. Abels directs the cult-hit film turned musical at the Dan Pessano Theatre for a limited engagement of 11 performances. A musical event that is not to be missed, Grey Gardens opens on July 26, and plays through August 11.

Deadline reports that John Lithgow will replace actor Michael Gambon in Ira Sachs' upcoming drama LOVE IS STRANGE. Alfred Molina co-stars in the film scheduled to begin production in New York City next month.

According to Zap2It, Naveen Andrews (Lost) has joined ABC's spin-off ONCE UPON A TIME IN WONDERLAND as 'Jafar' -- the villain from Disney's Aladdin. The news was revealed during a surprise appearance by the star at today's panel at Comic-Con in San Diego.
