The Lyric Theatre and the City of Stuart Community Redevelopment Agency will present a night of mystery and intrigue as it screens two Humphrey Bogart classics: African Queen and Maltese Falcon. The African Queen will be shown at 3pm on Saturday, July 25th and 7pm on Sunday, July 26th.

Variety reports that Stacy Keach will return to the role of Richard Nixon for three perfs in the national tour of 'Frost/Nixon,' currently onstage at the Ahmanson Theater. After Keach suffered a mild stroke last week, his understudy, Bob Ari, took over the role of the former president in the Peter Morgan-penned play, helmed by Michael Grandage. Ari understudied the role under Frank Langella in the Broadway production.

Stacy Keach, who had been hospitalized earlier today has been diagnosed as having suffered a very mild stroke, according to a statement released by Center Theatre Group, which can be read below.

Paul Newman, star of stage and screen lost his long battle with cancer on Friday he was 83 years old. A celebrated actor he had won numerous awards, including an Academy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, a Screen Actors Guild Award, a Cannes Film Festival Award, and an Emmy award, along with many honorary awards.

Keir Dullea and Mia Dillon will star in a play-reading of the winning play in the 2007 Artsport New Works Playwriting Competition on Sunday, November 11 at 7PM, presented by Playhouse on the Green in Bridgeport. The two noted actors will read In the Middle of Nowhere by Kent R. Brown of Fairfield. Director is Kate Katcher of Newtown.

Andrea McArdle, Bill Berloni, and Shelley Bruce - who were among the original cast members of Annie - are hoping to contact alumni from the original Broadway run of the classic 1977 musical to stage an Annie reunion.
