Redshift Productions' Scientist's Studio (Max Evjen, Artistic and Executive Director, Megan Halpern, Artistic and Producing Director ) will proudly present THREE ON A COUCH by Carl Djerassi, directed by Elena Araoz at the Soho Playhouse (15 Vandam Street), beginning performances on May 29 with its press opening Sunday June 8 through June 22, 2008.

It was confirmed today that new production of 'Brigadoon will be having its world premiere in Boston followed by an opening on Broadway in the Spring of 2009. The show features original book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe.

13P, the OBIE-winning collective of 13 playwrights, will present '13P: UNDONE' at Joe's Pub, 425 Lafayette Street, for one performance only on Tuesday, May 13 at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:00 p.m.)

American Conservatory Theater today announced the lineup of the company's 42nd subscription season. Running from September 2008 to July 2009, the season brings new plays, the nation's finest writers, fresh directors, and renowned performers to San Francisco, while presenting a carefully calibrated range of decades, aesthetics, and perspectives, ranging from dark comedy to serious drama, from movement-theater fusion to music-filled celebration.

The 2008 Tony Randall Grant, presented annually by the Tony Randall Theatrical Fund, will go to the Red Bull Theatre for their upcoming production of Thomas Middleton's' Women Beware Women opening late 2008.

The 2008 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has been awarded to Judith Thompson for her critically acclaimed play Palace of the End, marking the first time a Canadian writer has received the prestigious playwriting award's highest honor. Thompson received $20,000 and a signed and numbered print by artist Willem de Kooning at a special 30th Anniversary ceremony on Monday, March 10th at the Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas where Ms. Blackburn first became involved in theatre.

The Public Theater's former Artistic Producer Rosemarie Tichler will host a discussion with acclaimed director Gerald Freedman and Tony Award-winning playwright John Guare entitled 'Looking At The Early Years of the Public Theater.' The discussion will look back at a time of explosive creativity and artistic development in the early years of The Public Theater and Joe Papp's dedication to supporting the work of new playwrights. The discussion will immediately follow the Friday, February 22, 8PM. performance of Adrienne Kennedy's new play Mom, How Did You Meet The Beatles?, the inaugural production of the PUBLIC LAB series.

On Monday, February 4 The Vineyard Theatre - where Edward Albee's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Three Tall Women debuted in 1994 - celebrated Albee's 50-year career as one of the world's leading dramatists, as he turns 80 during this theatrical season. Co-hosts for the evening were Tony Award-winners Tyne Daly and Bill Irwin plus international artist Eartha Kitt.

Expanding on its 50-year history of developing new plays and cultivating new voices for the American Theater, The Public Theater has announced the 12 members of the inaugural Emerging Writers Group, a new program launching next month that targets playwrights at the earliest stages in their careers and nurtures their artistic growth by providing necessary resources and support.

The Signature Theatre Company 2006-2007 season productions of August Wilson's Two Trains Running and King Hedley II have been nominated for 16 AUDELCO Awards, which recognize excellence in black theatre. The winners will be announced on November 19 at a ceremony held at Aaron Davis Hall.

The Public Theater will continue its fall season with the world premiere of Tarell Alvin McCraney's new play The Brothers Size, directed by Tea Alagic, and produced in association with The Foundry Theatre who brought The Brothers Size to The Public's 2007 Under the Radar Festival earlier this year where it was the breakout hit of the festival. It will have a full production at The Public Theater October 23 to December 23 with an official press opening on Tuesday, November 6 at 7 PM.

SF Playhouse opens its fifth season with John Guare's Six Degrees of Separation, directed by Bill English, beginning performances September 19, opening September 22 through November 17.

Lincoln Center Theater will present The New Century, four short plays by Paul Rudnick, to be directed by Nicholas Martin, this spring in the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. Dates, cast and the design team for the production will be announced at a later date.
