NYMF Presents Premiere of 'To Paint the Earth' Starting 9/22

The New York Musical Theatre Festival, in association with TPTE LLC, will present the New York premiere of TO PAINT THE EARTH, music by Jonathan Portera and words by Daniel Frederick Levin, directed by Michael Bush (Stormy Weather, Based on a Totally True Story), as part of the 5th Annual NY Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF). Performances will run September 22nd-Oct 1st.

Lincoln Center Announces Series of Events Surrounding 50th Anniversary Celebration

Lincoln Center announced today an exciting series of artistic and educational events and initiatives to celebrate its forthcoming 50th anniversary, officially beginning with a ceremony to commemorate the institution's original groundbreaking in 1959 and ending with a campus-wide open house. The anniversary celebration coincides with the physical transformation of Lincoln Center, designed to make the campus a more open, accessible and vibrant urban destination. Ribbon cuttings will be held throughout the year as redevelopment projects are completed.

Shakespeare, an evening of songs set to lyrics by Shakespeare, presided over by former U.S. Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky, on Monday, September 15 at 6:30pm at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College, East 68 Street, between Park and Lexington Avenues.

A limited number of tickets, priced at $25-$45, are available from the Kaye box office at (212) 772-4448.

Mark Taper Forum Announces 2009 Season To Include 'Lydia', 'Pippin', and Donmar's 'Parade'

Michael Ritchie, Artistic Director of Center Theatre Group, has set the 2009 season at the Mark Taper Forum of the Los Angeles Music Center. The new season, which features six productions, will run from January 15, 2009, through January 24, 2010.

Casting is complete for the revival of John Guare's modern American classic comedy, 'The House of Blue Leaves,' which will open the new Mark Taper Forum after its year-long renovation. The Edgerton Foundation has announced their selected plays for 2008. The plays listed below are funded by the Edgerton Foundation's New American Play Awards. Since 2006, this funding program has provided over twenty TCG member theatres with financial resources to increase rehearsal time with the full production team onsite at the theatre. Bway Bound Brigadoon Postponed Due to Lack of Broadway Theatre
