YALE REPERTORY THEATRE presents the world premiere of THESE PAPER BULLETS!, a modish ripoff of William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, adapted by Rolin Jones, with songs by Billie Joe Armstrong, and directed by Jackson Gay, March 14-April 5 at the University Theatre (222 York Street). Opening Night is Thursday, March 20.

Les Waters Directs OUR TOWN at Actors Theatre, Now thru 2/9

Artistic Director Les Waters and Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein have announced that Actors Theatre continues its 50th Anniversary Season with Thornton Wilder's Our Town. Widely regarded as one of the finest plays ever written by an American, Our Town will be directed by Obie-award winning director Les Waters. The production, part of the Brown-Forman Series, will begin previews tonight, January 21, open on January 23 and run through February 9, 2014.

The Theatre School at DePaul University to Present Guare's A FREE MAN OF COLOR, 1/29-2/9

The Theatre School at DePaul University will present A FREE MAN OF COLOR, at the new Theatre School building, located at Racine and Fullerton on the Lincoln Park Campus. The Fullerton Stage Theatre is a 250-seat thrust theatre located on the first floor of the school. John Guare's A FREE MAN OF COLOR is directed by Phyllis E. Griffin, premieres on Friday, January 31, and runs through Sunday, February 9, 2014. Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. Previews are on January 29 and 30, at 7:30 PM.

Inspired by a true story, this play follows the trail of a young black con man who charms his way into the lives of a wealthy New York couple. He first appears on their doorstep wounded, saying he's just been mugged in Central Park, and introduces himself as a friend of their children at Harvard - and the son of movie star Sidney Poitier. Intelligent, funny, at times disturbing, this comedy-drama is a compelling evening of theatre and was named by the New York Drama Critics' Circle as Best New Play of the Year.

Actor's Express has announced Six Degrees of Separation, by John Guare, directed by Freddie Ashley. The production opens on Saturday night, January 11, 2013, 8pm curtain, preview performances are January 9 and 10, and the ever-popular pay-what-you-want sneak peek, "Director's Rough Cut", is Wednesday, January 8. The outstanding cast is led by Mary Lynn Owen and Doyle Reynolds as the affluent couple, and Jason-Jaml Ligon as Paul, the con artist. Complete cast list below. Three-show passes are available for the remainder of the company's season (and they make GREAT gifts!).
