Audiences at Berkeley Rep Donate $7,835 for Haiti Relief Efforts

In recent weeks, generous audiences at Berkeley Repertory Theatre have donated $7,835 to help people in the wake of the devastating earthquake in Haiti. The funds - which were collected by volunteer ushers following performances of Athol Fugard's Coming Home - have been given to Doctors Without Borders, the international nonprofit organization that was honored with the Nobel Peace Prize for its ongoing efforts to provide aid in nearly 60 nations to people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe.

NEXT FALL Begins Performances Tonight on Broadway

Performances begin tonight for NEXT FALL, the new American play by Geoffrey Nauffts, directed by Sheryl Kaller and presented by Elton John and David Furnish. The opening night on Broadway is Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the Helen Hayes Theatre (240 West 44th Street). A performance has been added this week on Sunday, February 21 at 7 pm.

The New York Times has confirmed that THE ORPHAN'S HOME CYCLE will aim for a fall 2010 Broadway opening, as opposed to rushing the show in this spring, as we previously speculated. While the show had the opportunity to transfer from its current home Off-Broadway at the Signature Theatre into the Neil Simon Theatre on Broadway for a spring opening, the producers and director Michael Wilson have opted to take the extra time to better prepare the show for the move.
