DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Conference Centre Regina Opens in Saskatchewan

DoubleTree by Hilton today announced the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Conference Centre Regina, marking the debut of Hilton Worldwide's globally-renowned hotel brand into the market. The hotel, formerly the Regina Inn Hotel and Conference Centre, unveils property-wide upgrades following a 10-month, multi-million dollar renovation that includes a total refurbishment of its 235 guest rooms, 18,000 square feet of flexible conference space and a new full-service restaurant. The hotel is owned and operated by SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts.

New Theatre Company The Phoenix Presents BLUE/ORANGE, Now thru 11/23

The Phoenix, the New Theatre Company founded by long-time PICT artistic director and founder Andrew Paul and Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre founder and former director of theatre initiatives at the August Wilson Center, Mark Clayton Southers, will debut with a four week run of Joe Penhall's provocative, caustically funny, Olivier Award-winning play Blue/Orange. The production will star acclaimed actors David Whalen, Sam Tsoutsouvas, and newcomer Rico Parker, with direction by Andrew Paul and scenic design by Mark Clayton Southers. Blue/Orange, sponsored by founding Phoenix Board Member and noted arts philanthropist Richard E. Rauh, plays tonight, November 1-23, 2013 at the Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre, 937 Liberty Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh.

DoubleTree by Hilton Opens Brand's First Hotel in Quebec

DoubleTree by Hilton today announced the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Gatineau-Ottawa, marking entry of Hilton Worldwide's globally-renowned hotel brand into the Canadian province of Quebec. Formerly the Château Cartier, the stunning landmark located in the National Capital Region unveils an updated look and enhanced amenities following an 18-month, $3 million revamp of the hotel's guest rooms, public areas and amenities. The hotel is owned and managed by Ken Pierre Investment LPD.

The mission of The Phoenix is to explore the issues facing our diverse and rapidly changing world through the language of theatre. The name is purposeful. The phoenix was a mythological creature that crossed borders finding a home in many cultures from ancient Greece and Egypt to Turkey, Persia, Russia, Tibet, China and Japan. It was and is a symbol of renewal, new life emerging from the ashes of the old in a never-ending cycle of death and rebirth.

DoubleTree by Hilton Announces Opening of Kamloops After Multi-Million Dollar Renovation

DoubleTree by Hilton today announced the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Kamloops following the completion of a 19-month, multi-million dollar renovation. The property, formerly The Coast Canadian Inn, becomes the first globally-branded hotel to open in downtown Kamloops, delivering upscale accommodations and the first-class service for which the DoubleTree by Hilton brand is known. With the transformation complete, the six-story property unveils a modern design throughout the 100 guest rooms and public areas. The hotel is owned and managed by Blue Light Hotels Ltd.

DoubleTree by Hilton Opens in Illinois Capital

DoubleTree by Hilton today announced the opening of President Abraham Lincoln Springfield - a DoubleTree by Hilton in historic downtown Springfield. Formerly an independent hotel, the property unveils a multi-million dollar transformation that includes contemporary upgrades throughout the hotel's classic lobby and guest rooms. The hotel continues to be owned and managed by Horve Hospitality Management.

DoubleTree by Hilton Port Huron Opens Following Dramatic $11M Renovation

DoubleTree by Hilton today announced the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Port Huron. Formerly the Thomas Edison Inn, the property reopens following a 12-month, multi-million dollar renovation. The hotel's transformation will continue with the development of the new 40,000 square foot Blue Water Area Convention Center, on which the hotel will break ground in October in partnership with St. Clair County. The hotel is owned by JB Real Estate Development, LLC and managed by Illinois-based management company, Hospitality Specialists, Inc.

Shakespeare Theatre of NJ Extends TOVARICH Through 9/1

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey announced today it was extending the run of its critically acclaimed comedy Tovarich through September 1st. Added performances of this long-forgotten treasure, by French playwright Jacques Deval and adapted by the American author Robert E. Sherwood, are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 29th, 30th and 31st at 8 p.m.; and Saturday August 31st and Sunday, September 1st at 2 p.m.
