After 25 years helping to lead Company of Fools, founding member and Core Company Artist Denise Simone will step down from her full-time staff position on October 31, 2016. Simone is leaving to refocus her professional life away from day-to-day management in favor of more artistically focused projects.

This fall, Company of Fools (COF) will present Grounded, the gripping drama by award-winning playwright George Brant. The play will run Sept. 28-Oct. 13 at the Liberty Theatre in Hailey. Hailed by The New York Times as "A scorching, sharp-eyed, timely script … (that) lets no one off easy," this heartbreaking, beautiful, and necessary story is one of courage, motherhood and modern warfare. COF will present this play with the audience seated onstage in the round, and seating is limited to 60 patrons at each performance.?

Company of Fools and Sun Valley Center for the Arts are pleased to announce that Core Company Artist John Glenn is among the 2016 recipients of the Governor's Awards in the Arts. Governor C. L. Butch Otter and First Lady Lori Otter announced this year's honorees in August.  Glenn received the Excellence in the Arts distinction.  This is the third award from Idaho's Governors in Company of Fools' 21 year history - Denise Simone, Core Company Artist, received the 2014 Excellence in the Arts and in 2004 Company of Fools was awarded the same distinction.

?Company of Fools (COF) opens its 21st season with the haunting and often hilarious  musical, Grey Gardens, with book by Doug Wright, music by Scott Frankel and lyrics by Michael Korie. Performances run June 28-July 20 at the Liberty Theatre in Hailey. When it premiered on Broadway in 2006, Grey Gardens was hailed as Time magazine's number one show of the year and garnered 10 Tony Award nominations.

Three renowned achievers will be honored for their lifetime accomplishments with the 37th Annual Common Wealth Awards of Distinguished Service. The awards recognize individuals who have enriched modern culture through their professional and personal endeavors.

This winter Company of Fools (COF) will present the romantic comedy, Almost, Maine, by playwright John Cariani as the final show in their 20th Anniversary season. COF presented a reading of Almost, Maine back in January of 2015 to 150 wildly enthusiastic audience members, and now the Company will fully realize this magically romantic comedy, February 17-March 5.

Company of Fools (COF) and The Sun Valley Center for the Arts will present an evening reading of the play CASA VALENTINA, from four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein (Kinky Boots, Newsies, La Cage aux Folles). The reading takes place tonight, January 16, 2016, at 6:30pm at The Liberty Theatre in Hailey and is part of The Center's BIG IDEA multidisciplinary project, Role Play: Changing Ideas about Gender.

Last performed in 2010, our community has sent a constant plea to share this favorite with a new generation of children. This smash-hit Broadway musical, A Year with Frog and Toad, with music by Robert Reale, book and lyrics by Willie Reale and developed by Adrianne Lobel, runs tonight, December 16-January 3, 2010, at the Liberty Theatre in Hailey.

Among the 17 recipients of the 2015 Presidential Medal of Freedom are Broadway legends Stephen Sondheim and Barbra Streisand, as well as pop star and ON YOUR FEET! creator Gloria Estefan. President Barack Obama named this year's honoreees last week, and the awards will be presented at the White House today, November 24th.
