After 25 years helping to lead Company of Fools, founding member and Core Company Artist Denise Simone will step down from her full-time staff position on October 31, 2016. Simone is leaving to refocus her professional life away from day-to-day management in favor of more artistically focused projects.
This fall, Company of Fools (COF) will present Grounded, the gripping drama by award-winning playwright George Brant. The play will run Sept. 28-Oct. 13 at the Liberty Theatre in Hailey. Hailed by The New York Times as "A scorching, sharp-eyed, timely script … (that) lets no one off easy," this heartbreaking, beautiful, and necessary story is one of courage, motherhood and modern warfare. Company of Fools and Sun Valley Center for the Arts are pleased to announce that Core Company Artist John Glenn is among the 2016 recipients of the Governor's Awards in the Arts. Governor C. L. Butch Otter and First Lady Lori Otter announced this year's honorees in August. Glenn received the Excellence in the Arts distinction. This is the third award from Idaho's Governors in Company of Fools' 21 year history - Denise Simone, Core Company Artist, received the 2014 Excellence in the Arts and in 2004 Company of Fools was awarded the same distinction.
