BWW Reviews: Electrically Charged KOWALSKI Bows @ Two Roads Theatre

Plays about the world of theatre are forever alluring. Such is the case with the world premiere of Kowalski that presents the initial meeting between Tennessee Williams and Marlon Brando. Kowalski, of course, is Stanley's last name...Stanley in A Streetcar Named Desire, that is, which offered the role of a lifetime to the actor who turned out to be... the icon of his generation. Now at the Two Roads Theatre, Kowalski is a rich and delicious theatrical dessert played to the hilt by a devilishly delightful cast.

Body And Soul To Be Screened As Next Installment Of Oscar Noir 8/2

'Body and Soul' (1947), the underworld drama from writer Abraham Polonsky ('Force of Evil') and director Robert Rossen ('The Hustler'), will be screened as the next feature in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' series 'Oscar Noir: 1940s Writing Nominees from Hollywood's Dark Side' on Monday, August 2, at 7:30 p.m. at the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

Pearl Lang, Dancer and Teacher, Dead at 87

The New York Times has reported the sad news that Pearl Lang, a dancer who was a major interpreter of Martha Graham's choreography and who as a choreographer and teacher founded a distinguished company of her own, the Pearl Lang Dance Theater, died Tuesday in Manhattan. She was 87 and lived on the Upper West Side reports the Times
