Lyndon Terracini for Opera Australia and John Frost for Crossroads Live today announced that due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, they have made the difficult decision to move the Tony Award-winning Broadway production of Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella into 2022.

Following auditions by more than 300 hopeful artists in Brisbane and around the country (via video calls), the full cast of this September's Queensland premiere season of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was unveiled today coinciding with World Chocolate Day (7 July).

The role of Ella (Cinderella), a strong and intelligent young woman who dreams of escaping her endless chores so she might see the world, will be played by rising musical theatre star Shubshri Kandiah.

Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) will bring the musical, Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to Brisbane this September. 

Tickets for the Tony Award-winning Broadway production of one of the most beautiful musicals of all time, Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella, will go on sale this week on Friday 30 April. The contemporary retelling of this beloved story will have its Australian Premiere in Sydney at the Capitol Theatre from 16 November.
