The international award-winning hit LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL is coming to the Princess Theatre, Melbourne in May 2013 for a strictly limited season (tickets on sale today, 17 December). It was a smash hit musical in New York for 2 years and for 3 years in London where it won the coveted Best New Musical Olivier Award.

The funniest musical comedy to hit the Melbourne stage in decades, A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, is now in its final three weeks as it must close on January 6, 2013.

Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG), the UK's largest theatre owner/operator and producing group, has today announced that Tim McFarlane has agreed to join ATG in the newly created role of CEO for ATG Asia/Pacific.

The theatrical event of 2013 will tour Australia! Leading Australian theatre producer John Frost announced has announced that due to an unprecedented demand for tickets, following the Brisbane premiere season of Alfred Uhry's Pulitzer Prize-winning classic play Driving Miss Daisy, the production will tour to Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.

Four-time Tony Award® winner Boyd Gaines joins five-time Tony Award® and three-time Academy Award® nominee Angela Lansbury and two-time Tony Award® winner and Academy Award® winner James Earl Jones in the Australian production of Driving Miss Daisy.

They are part of the Dream Team - the Australian cast of SOUTH PACIFIC so perfectly composed that their production of Bartlett Sher's Lincoln Center revival brought Oscar Hammerstein's grandson to tears in Sydney, and has since been chosen as the version of the record-breaking stage show to be immortalised on DVD.

The show plays Melbourne's Princess Theatre from tonight, September 13, 2012, as the first-ever Lincoln Center Theater production to tour Australia.

According to AussieTheatre.com.au, Opera Australia's production of South Pacific, starring Teddy Tahu Rhodes and Lisa McCune, was filmed today, Sept 5, for DVD release.
