WCSU to Host Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival

This week, Western Connecticut State University will, for the second consecutive year, host the Region 1 Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF). KCACTF is a national theater program involving 18,000 students from more than 600 colleges and universities nationwide that has 'served as a catalyst for improving the quality of college theater in the United States,' according to its website.

Berkeley Symphony Performs MASON BATES CELLO CONCERTO, BEETHOVEN'S SYMPHONY NO. 4, Today

Berkeley Symphony announced today that Music Director Joana Carneiro has withdrawn from the Berkeley Symphony concert today, January 26 at 8 pm at Zellerbach Hall. Carneiro is pregnant and is under doctor's advice not to conduct or travel. The concert will be conducted by Christian Reif. The Orchestra will perform the Bay Area premiere of Mason Bates' Cello Concerto with Joshua Roman, to whom the work is dedicated, and Beethoven's Symphony No. 4.

THE NIGHT OF THE IGUANA with James Earl Jones Finds Full Cast at A.R.T.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University under the leadership of Artistic Director Diane Paulus and Executive Director Diane Quinn, will present The Night of the Iguana, written by Tennessee Williams and directed by Michael Wilson. Performances begin on Saturday, February 18 and run through Saturday, March 18 at the Loeb Drama Center, 64 Brattle St., Cambridge.

Bob Saget Has Been Added To The All-star Lineup Of Garden Of Laughs

The Madison Square Garden Company (NYSE: MSG) and The Garden of Dreams Foundation is pleased to announce that Grammy Award-nominated comedian and the star of two of the most successful network TV shows ever produced, Bob Saget, has joined the Garden of Laughs presented by Delta Air Lines.

YoungArts Honors Jason Moran and Jessica Lang at Backyard Ball Presented by Max Mara

On Saturday, January 14, 2017, the National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) hosted its annual fundraiser in Miami, theBackyard Ball performance and gala, to help support the artistic development of the nation's most promising young artists. In addition to recognizing the talent of this year's 691 YoungArts Winners, the event honored jazz pianist Jason Moran (1993 Winner in Jazz) with the Arison Alumni Award, and choreographer Jessica Lang as the Arison Award Honoree for their vital contributions and commitment to the arts. The event also featured Javon Jones's acceptance of the inaugural 2016 Max Mara Young Visionary Award presented by Maria Giulia Maramotti, Max Mara's Director of retail for North America.
