The Weinstein Company (TWC) announced today that they have acquired U.S. rights from Butler Films to distribute THE BUTLER, directed by Academy Award nominated Lee Daniels (PRECIOUS).

Chris Riggi of "Gossip Girl" has joined the cast of Darren Caulley's Unhealthy for a limited workshop run at HERE Arts Center in New York from December 4th-9th. He will play 'Kurt', a morally confused actor caught between two women. Brandon Ivie has also signed on to direct the production.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today that Nicole Kidman and Richard Peña will be the subject of gala tributes to be presented by the festival for the first time during the historic 50th edition of NYFF.

The musical, which is in its early stages of development, will feature the five songs from the film along with fifteen new songs written for the stage. Joining the creative team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty will be bookwriter Terrence McNally and music director Ben Cohn. Joining the previously announced cast is Kelli Barrett in the title role of Anya (Anastasia). Patrick Page once again dons the role of the villain, Vladimir. Angela Lansbury will reprise her role from the film as the Empress Maria, and Aaron Tveit will play Dimitri.

According to Deadline.com, stage veteran Liev Schreiber has joined the cast of the upcoming Lee Daniels film The Butler, as Lyndon B Johnson. Danny Strong wrote the script with Daniels.

Coming off a successful Cannes Film Market, Hyde Park International has announced a new executive structure with the hiring of Eric Christenson as President, overseeing the international division for Chairman and CEO Ashok Amritraj's Los Angeles-based operation.

The gritty, inspirational drama SUNLIGHT JR. will be unveiled to international buyers by Hyde Park International at this year's Marche du Film.
