From July 17 through August 3, 2013, MASS MoCA (the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art in North Adams, MA) explodes with the sounds of the 12th Annual Bang on a Can Summer Music Festival at MASS MoCA, a utopian residency program dedicated entirely to the creation, study, and performance of the most adventurous music of our time. A three-week intensive of public performances, recitals, and lectures, the Festival will be attended by over 50 cutting-edge composers and performers from around the globe, including 37 fellows selected from a pool of over 250 applicants from 17 countries.

The Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, New York Live Arts' resident dance company, today announced the touring programs and productions for the 2013-2014 season, continuing the Company's 30th anniversary celebrations. The Company will perform in 13 cities in three countries over the next 10 months, making their debut at a number of venues across the U.S. and abroad. The tour kicks off with the Company's debut at the Festival de Marseille, in Marseille, France, on June 19 with a residency and performances of Play and Play: an Evening of Movement and Music. Other touring programs of the 2013-2014 season include A Rite, with Anne Bogart's SITI Company; Story/Time; Body Against Body; and /Time: Study I, a new site-specific work.

Spectrum has announced Rétes, a new collaborative series on the first Sunday of each month at 7pm, beginning July 7th. Curated by composer and choreographic pianist, Eleonor Sandresky, the series will feature collaborations with fellow composer/performers.

The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra's pioneering Liquid Music series announces its 2013-14 schedule of events. This is the second season for Liquid Music, a series that seeks to expand the world of classical music through innovative new projects, boundary-defying artists, and unique presentation formats. Each program features new works, world or regional premieres, or new collaborations including many artists working together for the first time.

In the spring of 2013, the cicadas in the Northeastern U.S. will emerge from their seventeen-year cycle, the longest gestation period of any animal. On the occasion of the cicadas' arrival and the release of David Rothenberg's CD and book, Bug Music: How Insects Gave us Rhythm and Noise (St Martin Press, 2013), Ear to the Earth is pleased to present Insect Music - an evening of conversation, film and music on the sonic world of the cicadas. The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ present the 16th annual benefit concert in support of the United Jewish Appeal of MetroWest NJ (UJA) today, April 21, at 3 pm, at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark. Clarinetist David Krakauer joins the Orchestra for Mozart's Clarinet Concerto, along with traditional klezmer works Synagogue Wail and Der Heyser Bulgar. Guest conductor Stefan Sanderling leads the Orchestra in the one-performance-only program, which opens with Copland's Appalachian Spring.

ACME, the American Contemporary Music Ensemble performs tonight, April 18 at 7:30pm. presented by The Morgan Library and Museum (225 Madison Avenue) and the Polish Cultural Institute New York. ACME pays homage to the late, largely unsung Polish composer Mieczys?aw Weinberg with an elegiac chamber music program that includes his exquisite Piano Quintet Op. 18, plus Dmitri Shostakovich's Piano Trio No. 2 in E minor, Op. 67 and selections from Henryk Gorecki's String Quartet No. 3.

The Winfield Gallery presents the exhibition LUMENIS- New Paintings of Tracey Adams. LUMENIS continues to explore Tracey Adams' fascination and ongoing interest in the areas where art and music intersect and overlap: gesture, line, color, space, pattern, etc. This series of paintings incorporates encaustic monotypes (pigmented beeswax printed on Japanese papers) which are then collaged on panels and glazed with many layers of acrylic, then covered with cold wax.

New World School of the Arts(NWSA) college dancers will perform a Cunningham MinEvent as part of the Todays At Noon series entitled: Merce Cunningham: New Perspectives, A Living Legacy, in New York City.

The Cleveland Orchestra and the Cleveland Museum of Art collaborate in the presentation of California Masterworks, two intimate Cleveland Orchestra concerts at the museum featuring works by groundbreaking composers inextricably associated with California. James Feddeck, Cleveland Orchestra assistant conductor, will conduct performances Wednesday, May 1 and Friday, May 3 in the museum's Gartner Auditorium. The programs include works by John Adams, Henry Cowell, Lou Harrison, Terry Riley, James Tenney, and, in a posthumous world premiere, Dane Rudhyar. The concerts are part of the museum's VIVA! & Gala Performing Arts series, which explores extraordinary performing arts from around the world.
