The Ben Maltz Gallery at Otis College of Art and Design and the Laband Art Gallery at Loyola Marymount University are pleased to present an exhibition of contemporary art entitled Tapping the Third Realm on view September 22 through December 8, 2013. New York Live Arts will present, as part of the Replay Series, works by Molissa Fenley spanning more than thirty years of her choreographic experiments in two varied programs October 2 - 5 at 7:30pm, with a lecture demonstration October 5 at 3:00pm. Fenley will present the world premiere of Found Object, the reconstructed solos The Floor Dances and Witches' Float, and the quartet Energizer, bridging her choreographic past with the present.
New World Symphony Opens Season with World Premiere of Video Work by Tal Rosner, 10/5

The New World Symphony, America's Orchestral Academy (NWS), opens its 2013-2014 season on October 5 and 6 with the world premiere of a video work by artist and filmmaker Tal Rosner. The video, which accompanies the Four Sea Interludes from Benjamin Britten's opera Peter Grimes, is co-commissioned by NWS, Los Angeles Philharmonic, The Philadelphia Orchestra and San Francisco Symphony. The New World Symphony performances, which will include a WALLCAST concert on October 5, are conducted by NWS Founder and Artistic Director Michael Tilson Thomas and feature Gershwin's Cuban Overture and Piano Concerto in F performed by renowned pianist Yuja Wang, as well as Stravinsky'sPulcinella Suite.

The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra's Liquid Music series presents Chicago-based Ensemble dal Niente on Tuesday, November 5 at The Music Room, SPCO Center in downtown Saint Paul. The concert will feature the world premiere of a new work by Minnesota composer Noah Keesecker called The Universe is made of stories, not of atoms.

Edinburgh International Festival to Celebrate Nam June Paik on The Space, 8/8

In association with the Edinburgh International Festival, The Space (www.thespace.org), the free, digital arts service from Arts Council England in partnership with the BBC, is to present a retrospective of seminal artist Nam June Paik's workfrom Thursday, 8 August. It coincides with a major exhibition, TRANSMITTED LIVE: - NAM JUNE PAIK RESOUNDS, opening at the University of Edinburgh's Talbot Rice Gallery, as part of this year's Edinburgh International Festival. The exhibition marks the 50th anniversary of Paik's first solo show, EXPOSITION OF MUSIC - ELECTRONIC TELEVISION (Wuppertal 1963) when the artist brought television into the realm of art for the very first time.

Northrop at the University of Minnesota announces single tickets go on-sale today, August 5 for its 2013-14 Northrop Season, which features world-class dance, including copresentations with The O'Shaughnessy at St. Catherine University's Women of Substance and Walker Art Center. New York City Ballet will open its 2013-2014 season on Tuesday, September 17 with six performances of Peter Martins' full-length production of SWAN LAKE. Set to Tschaikovsky's score and featuring sets and costumes by the acclaimed Danish painter Per Kirkeby, the production was last performed by NYCB in the fall of 2011 to sold-out houses.

The Pasadena Playhouse announced the full schedule for its new summer festival, CIRQUE-A-PALOOZA - Summer Spectacle & Comic Calamity, created and directed by Stefan Haves. Mainstage feature acts will include two performances of magician/entertainer Justin Willman's Tricked Out, Frank Ferrante's one-man show An Evening With Groucho and a special night with some of the greatest magicians of The Magic Castle. Road to Palooza: A Variety Show Spectacular will also be a Mainstage event for five performances featuring a number of the amazing acts playing the festival and rotating special guest performers. The Carrie Hamilton Theatre will host an eclectic variety of specialty acts over the three-week period. The CIRQUE-A-PALOOZA festival will launch today, July 19 and perform through August 11, 2013.

A three-week intensive of public performances, recitals, and lectures, the Festival will be attended by over 50 cutting-edge composers and performers from around the globe, including 37 fellows selected from a pool of over 250 applicants from 17 countries.

Symphony Space, New York's home for innovative and diverse cultural programming on the Upper West Side, celebrates its 35th season of Music programs in 2013-14 with a stellar array of artists in imaginative, thought-provoking presentations. Curated by Artistic Director Laura Kaminsky, the offerings range from marathon celebrations to intimate recitals, encompassing a rich variety of musical styles. Highlights include a visit from Krzysztof Penderecki, October 25; the fifth THE MUSIC OF NOW MARATHON, with the dream-inspired theme of 'REM: Rapid Ear Movement,' February 1; and appearances by Dar Williams, Tom Paxton, Christine Lavin, and other icons of folk/acoustic music.
