Traverse Welcomes Four Emerging Theatre Companies for Hothouse 2015 This Week

The Edinburgh-based theatre companies and performers who will present work at this year's Traverse Hothouse showcase are set. They are Urban Fox, Heather Marshall, Melanie Jordan & Caitlin Skinner and Trig Point. They will perform their work in Traverse 2 this week, 10 - 13 November. The pieces are at various stages of development and audience input is being sought by the artists as part of their development process.

Traverse Theatre Announces Autumn 2015 Season, to Close with TRACKS OF THE WINTER BEAR

As the Traverse Theatre enjoys an acclaimed Festival programme it launches its Autumn season today (17 August), featuring a programme of world-class productions, festivals and engagement events. Traverse Theatre Company production, Tracks of the Winter Bear by Rona Munro and Stephen Greenhorn, premieres on 9 December, bringing to a close a season of work that reinforces the Traverse's position as one of the UK's foremost new writing theatres. 

Stellar Quines Receives Scotsman Fringe First Award

Scotland's Stellar Quines are delighted to announce that The Deliverance, the final play in Jennifer Tremblay's powerful and evocative trilogy, translated by Shelley Tepperman and starring Maureen Beattie, has been awarded a Scotsman Fringe First for best new writing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

GO DANCE 15 Set for Theatre Royal Glasgow

Go Dance 15, now in its 8th year returns to the Theatre Royal from Tuesday 26 until Saturday 30 May celebrating the best of community dance. Hosted by Scottish actor Alan McHugh, every evening offers a different programme of dynamic routines from Scotland's leading dance colleges, dance schools and community groups.

Citizens Theatre to Present THE SLAB BOY, Begin. 12 Feb

Citizens Theatre begins celebrations of its 70th anniversary year with a landmark production of The Slab Boys. Original creators, John Byrne and David Hayman, join forces to revive one of Scottish theatre's most iconic plays. This will be the first time that Byrne and Hayman have worked together since the work debuted on the Scottish stage in 1978. In this new production of The Slab Boys a cast of young Scottish acting talent reclaim the story for a new generation. The Slab Boys runs from 12 February - 7 March and then transfers to King's Theatre, Edinburgh from 10 - 14 March.

Celtic Festival Returns to Ware Center Today

The Rose and Shamrock Celtic Festival will celebrate all things Celtic in Lancaster, following up on last year's first and hugely popular Celtic festival in the city. Taking place today, Nov. 22, this year's Rose and Shamrock Celtic Festival will be taking place at not just one, but two downtown venues: the Ware Center of Millersville University, located at 42 N. Prince Street, and Tellus360, 24 N. King Street. Featuring music, dance, food, storytelling, workshops and more, the Rose and Shamrock Celtic Festival will be an event where anyone attending-regardless of where he or she (or his or her parents or grandparents) were born-can say: 'Ta me Gaelach don la (I'm Gaelic for the day)!'

Third Man Theatre's MUGS ARROWS Plays the Old Red Lion Theatre, Now thru June 21

Critically acclaimed theatre company Third Man Theatre are working at the Old Red Lion for the first time, with the London transfer of their brand new full-length show, Mugs Arrows, which was developed and premiered at the Bike Shed Theatre, Exeter as part of their Residency programme in 2013 receiving rave reviews. The show will run at the Old Red Lion Theatre, Islington from today, 3rd - 21s June 2014. Press night is set for Thursday 5th June, 7.30pm.

Suzana Stankovic to Bring MISTRESS OF THE HOUR to the Tank

Noted for her depth and daring, dance-theatre artist, Suzana Stankovic, will premiere Mistress of the Hour, a confessional, avant-garde work at The Tank Theater, 151 west 46th Street in New York City, from March 21st - April 6th, 2014, Fridays - Sundays at 7:00pm except Sunday, April 6th at 3:00pm for a total of nine performances.
