George Street Playhouse, now located at 103 College Farm Road in New Brunswick, announced today that Playhouse favorites John Bolger (last season's American Son, 2014's Outside Mullingar) and Armand Schultz (The Spitfire Grill, Jolson Sings Again), as well as Broadway's Kally Duling (Fun Home) and Laiona Michelle (Amazing Grace) have been cast in Christopher Demos-Brown's gripping military drama American Hero, on stage January 30 through February 25.

George Street Playhouse presents American Son, a ripped-from-the-headlines drama by Christopher Demos-Brown that earned the 2016 Laurents/Hatcher Foundation Award for a new play by an emerging playwright. The emotionally charged play stars George Street favorites John Bolger (GSP's Outside Mullingar, Twelve Angry Men) and Suzzanne Douglas (GSP's Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, Wit), as well as Mark Junek (Broadway's The Performers) and Mark Kenneth Smaltz (Law & Order: SVU). I always say that the mark of a good story can make us alter the way we think. In attending the East Coast premiere of Five Presidents at the Bay Street Theatre, by way of the Arizona Theatre Company and Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, I actually found myself sympathizing, if slightly, for people that I, frankly, don't like… politicians.
