The Cleveland Orchestra Announces 101st Season For 2018-2019

As the celebrations, performances, and successes of The Cleveland Orchestra's Centennial Season continue toward its conclusion this spring, the Orchestra has announced details of its 101st season for 2018-2019. After an almost thirty-year tenure, cellist Ronald Leonard has retired from the Colburn School. While his contributions to Colburn have been extraordinary, the impact he has had on his colleagues and generations of young artists worldwide has been beyond measure. The Colburn School will celebrate Leonard's six decades as a distinguished orchestral performer, chamber musician, and educator with a special tribute on April 9, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. in Zipper Hall.

The McCammon Voice Competition Announces The 2018 McCammon Semi-Finalists

The 2018 McCammon Voice Competition judges have chosen the semi-finalists for the eighteenth biennial competition, to be held on March 16, 2018 at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. The finals will be held March 17, 2018 at Bass Performance Hall. This year's competitors are David Araujo, Amanda Blue, Nicolette Book, Ryan Bradford, Rachael Braustein, Kathleen Buccleugh, Chelsea Coyne, Danielle Davis, Peter Scott Drackley, Helen Huang, Hao Hu, Emily Michiko Jensen, Abigail Kempson, Chonghwa Kim, Abigail Levis, Brandon Morales, Elizabeth Moran, Langelihle Mngxati, Chong Yoon Noh, Brittany Nickell, Yulan Piao, Anthony Reed, Michael St. Peter and Andrew Wannigman.

Utah Symphony Announces 2018-19 Season

Music Director Thierry Fischer and President & CEO Paul Meecham today announced the Utah Symphony's 2018-19 season, with highlights including the live recording of a Berlioz album for Hyperion Records, semi-staged performances of Bernstein's "Candide" in celebration of the composer's centennial, and a cycle of Bach's six Brandenburg Concertos paired with works by the late composer Pierre Boulez. American composer Andrew Norman will be in Salt Lake City as Composer-in-Association for performances of his works and additional activities.

Palm Beach Opera Announces 2018-2019 Season Including Exciting New Concert

Palm Beach Opera today announced its 2018-2019 mainstage opera season, which will include performances of Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Don Giovanni, and Johann Strauss' Die Fledermaus, as well as a new concert, Rising Stars of Opera. Pacific Symphony Will Present FLEDERMAUS: THE BAT-MAN'S REVENGE This February

A classic story gets a real twist by Pacific Symphony when an abundance of pranks, tricks, dancing and singing take place during the annual Superheroes' masked costume ball! Based (loosely) on the lighthearted comic operetta, 'The Bat' (Die Fledermaus), written by the 'Waltz King' Johann Strauss, Jr., this concert event, designed for children, sparkles with fun and lively music, all wrapped around a story that features the mysterious Bat-Man, the biggest prankster of them all. Dating back to 1874, the original 'Die Fledermaus' is considered by most critics to be the greatest of all Viennese operettas-and in the hands of the Symphony, led by Assistant Conductor Roger Kalia, the story enjoys a local spin to bring the tale vividly home for children and adults alike. In-between are some of the irresistible waltzes and arias made famous by Strauss II.

On Today, December 16, the Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) Holiday POPS! concert celebrates the season with the Princeton High School Choir at 4 pm and 7 pm performances led by Music Director Rossen Milanov at Richardson Auditorium on Princeton University Campus. The festive program includes music by John Williams from Home Alone, Franz Waxman's 1938 Suite from A Christmas Carol, waltzes by Johann Strauss Jr., and more. Of course, no Holiday POPS! concert is complete without Maestro Milanov inviting the audience to join in on carols arranged by Leroy Anderson.
