The Drama League (Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Artistic Director) today announced the 2019 Drama League Awards Nominees for Outstanding Production of a Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Production of a Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award. The nominations were announced this morning by the current stars of Waitress, Shoshana Bean and Jeremy Jordan, at the official announcement event at Sardi's Restaurant, which was streamed live online here at BroadwayWorld.

Michael Urie Will Host the Drama Desk Awards; Tickets On Sale Tomorrow!

The Drama Desk has announced that Drama Desk Award-winning actor Michael Urie (Torch Song, Buyer and Cellar, 'Ugly Betty') will host The 64th Annual Drama Desk Awards, Sunday, June 2 at 8PM at The Town Hall in New York City. This marks Urie's fourth consecutive time hosting the ceremony. Public tickets go on sale tomorrow, Tuesday, April 9 at 12PM EST, for the 64th Annual Drama Desk Awards, and can be purchased at www.DramaDeskAwards.com. VIP tickets will become available later this month.

Theatre Royal Bath Productions today announces the UK premiere of Christopher Durang's Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike as part of its 2019 Summer Season, directed by the Tony Award-winning US director Walter Bobbie. The comedy, produced by special arrangement with Joey Parnes, Larry Hirschhorn, Sue Wagner and John Johnson, will open at the Ustinov Studio where it runs from 6 June to 6 July with press night on 12 June.

Producer Scott Rudin has announced that to accommodate ticket demand, Edward Albee's Three Tall Women will add a ninth performance in its final week of performances. Nominated for six 2018 Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Play, Three Tall Women must close as previously scheduled on Sunday, June 24, with the added 7:00 PM show now the final performance for the ecstatically received production.
