The Toxic Avenger, winner of 'Best New Off- Broadway Musical' by both the Outer Critics Circle and BroadwayWorld's Theatre Fans, is now on sale through February 21st, 2010. The Joe DiPietro/David Bryan penned musical is currently playing at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street).
VANITIES Begins Previews July 2 at Second Stage Theatre

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director; Ellen Richard, Executive Director) will conclude its 30th Anniversary mainstage season with the New York premiere of VANITIES, a new musical written by Jack Heifner, featuring music and lyrics by David Kirshenbaum, directed by Judith Ivey. With musical staging by Dan Knechtges, VANITIES will feature Lauren Kennedy, Sarah Stiles, and Anneliese van der Pol and will begin preview performances on Thursday, July 2.
Opening night is Thursday, July 16 at 6:30pm
BABES IN ARMS To Have Broadway Revival; O'Donnell To Star

A Broadway revival of Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart's BABES IN ARMS is in the works, according to Variety.
The production will be directed and choreographed by Randy Skinner (recently Tony nominated Choreographer of 'Irving Berlin's White Christmas') and will utilize a new book by Joe DiPietro ('I Love You, You're Perfect...Now Change!', 'The Toxic Avenger' and 'Memphis'). The production will star Rosie O'Donnell.

The Tony Administration Committee revealed the names of a quartet of honorees who are to be recognized in the four non-competitive Tony categories. Composer/lyricist Jerry Herman, Virginia's Signature Theatre, and longtime press agent Shirley Herz will be honored at the 63rd annual Tony Awards ceremony on June 7. Actress/writer Phyllis Newman will receive the newest Tony Award for her volunteer work as an advocate for women's health.

La Jolla Playhouse announced today the addition of the world-premiere musical Bonnie & Clyde, to its 2009-10 season, replacing The Big Time. This production features music by Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel), lyrics by Tony Award-winner Don Black (Sunset Boulevard, Song and Dance), book by Ivan Menchell (The Cemetery Club, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), and direction by Jeff Calhoun (Deaf West's Big River and Pippin, Grease!). Bonnie & Clyde will run November 10 - December 20, 2009 in the Playhouse's Mandell Weiss Theatre.

Celina Carvajal will assume the role of Sarah, the sexy, blind librarian on Monday, June 15th.
