TV: First Look at Highlights of NATIVE SON at Court Theatre

Due to early ticket demand, Court Theatre and American Blues Theater have extended the world premiere of American Blues Ensemble Member Nambi E. Kelley's new adaptation of Richard Wright's classic novel, Native Son, directed by Seret Scott. Native Son will now run through October 19, 2014 at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis Avenue.

The perfect show for the holiday season, Noises Off is a hysterical romp packed full of a side-splitting collection of forgotten cues, missed connections and backstage hilarity! Written by playwright Michael Frayn, Noises Off will be directed by KJ Sanchez, who returns to The Rep after directing last year's luminous production of The Diary of Anne Frank. The production features Rep Associate Artists Jonathan Gillard Daly, Laura Gordon, Gerard Neugent and Deborah Staples, frequent guest actor Kelley Faulkner, Chicago-based actors Aaron Christensen and Joe Dempsey and Rep Acting Interns Joe Boersma and Sara Zientek. Noises Off runs in The Rep's Quadracci Powerhouse from tonight, November 19 - December 22 and opens Friday, November 22.

RIPPED: The Living Newspaper Festival Set for 6/24 at Greenhouse Theater Center

American Blues Theater and Producing Artistic Director Gwendolyn Whiteside are proud to announce their annual fundraiser RIPPED: The Living Newspaper Festival takes place Monday, June 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. Tickets are a suggesting donation of $10 at the door. In addition to performances, there is a performance from The Lincoln Squares, complimentary hors d'oeuvres and drinks. A stage tale of troubled families, a true-life story musical about gay servicemen in World War II and a rousing rock'n'roll revue took home top honors Monday, June 3, at Park West during the 40th Annual Non-Equity Jeff Awards ceremony recognizing excellence in non-union Chicago theatre.

Broadway In Chicago has announced that I LOVE LUCY LIVE ON STAGE, the brand new hit musical stage show adapted from the longest-running and most beloved television program in history, starring Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel: America's favorite foursome, is extending two weeks by popular demand at the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place (175 East Chestnut St.). Tickets for performances through March 17, 2013 are on-sale now.
