THE RAILWAY CHILDREN Extends Into 2016 at King's Cross Theatre

The Olivier Award-winning production of Mike Kenny's stage adaptation of E. Nesbit's novel The Railway Children - Live on Stage will be extending its run at King's Cross Theatre until Sunday 3 January 2016. Originally planned to close on 6 September, the production will run for an extra four months due to popular demand. Tickets for the new period will go on sale at 10.00am on Friday 10 July.

The Olivier Award-winning production of Mike Kenny's stage adaptation of E. Nesbit's novel The Railway Children begins performances tonight, Tuesday 16 December 2014 at 7.30pm, with the news that the booking period is being extended to 6 September 2015 at its new home, the King's Cross Theatre in London. The new booking period will open on Friday 19 December. There will be a press night on 14 January.

The Olivier Award-winning production of Mike Kenny's stage adaptation of E. Nesbit's novel The Railway Children will be returning to London on 16 December 2014, but moving to a new home, the King's Cross Theatre, where a purpose built 1,000-seat theatre, complete with a railway track and platforms, and with a state of the art heating system, will be specially created. The site, on King's Boulevard, behind King's Cross Station, has been loaned to the production for the duration of the run by Google, who own the land. The York Theatre Royal production, which is in association with the National Railway Museum, will once again feature a live 60-tonne steam locomotive and Gentleman's Carriage. The Railway Children, which previews from 16 December, with a press night on 14 January, is booking until 1 March 2015. Open auditions for children aged between 9 and 13 to star in the children's ensemble were held on Saturday 18 October at Jacksons Lane Arts Centre, and BroadwayWorld has photos below! Casting will be announced shortly.

Directed by Pilot Theatre's Artistic Director Marcus Romer and co-produced with Derby Theatre and Theatre Royal Stratford East, Antigone will premiere in Derby on the 19 September, where it plays until 4 October before touring nationally until 29 November. The production will then open in London at Theatre Royal Stratford East on 19 February 2015.

The story of JEKYLL & HYDE has been reworked and reinterpreted many times since Stevenson's original novella. The text offers so much to sink your teeth into its no surprise that directors keep on coming back to it. Flipping the Bird's production keeps the key themes intact - the mad scientist, the search for perfection, the beast within - and all the while using it to explore ideas way ahead of its time.
