Tomorrow is a day for celebration, musical theatre fans, as Image Entertainment releases THE STEPHEN SONDHEIM COLLECTION. This collection includes some of the most glorious productions of the musical theatre icon's works. Ranging from original Broadway casts to starry-concerts, THE STEPHEN SONDHEIM COLLECTION includes DVDs of five of Sondheim's most influential shows, and a sixth disc of the master's 80th Birthday Concert.
Dare to Defy Productions announces the company's 2015-16 season today. Featuring six productions presented in either the Mathile Theatre in the Schuster Center or the Victoria Theatre in downtown Dayton, the season includes Into the Woods, Godspell, Footloose, The Great American Trailer Park Musical, Wild Party and American Idiot!
New York Shakespeare Exchange (Ross Williams, Artistic Director) is thrilled to announce that The Sonnet Project hits the 100th film milestone on April 8 with the release of Sonnet 27 (Weary with toil, I haste me to my bed...), starring Carrie Preston and directed by Michael Dunaway. The sonnet was filmed on the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge between Brooklyn and Staten Island.

TheatreZone founder and artistic director Mark Danni today unveiled his musical selections for the non-profit Equity professional theatre group's 11th consecutive season opening with legendary composer Marvin Hamlisch's final Broadway show Sweet Smell of Success on January 7, 2016 closely followed by The Boy From Oz in February, Stephen Sondheim's Into The Woods in March and concluding with the tap dancing comedic gem Dames at Sea in May.

Closing the Gap - A Benefit Concert - A special One Night Only Concert featuring the songs of Dramatist Guild Fellows Dana Levinson and Stacey Weingarten. Inspired by an Ira Glass quote, musical theater writing team Levinson and Weingarten air their dirty laundry and reveal the sometimes painful but often hilarious process of closing the gap between artistic taste and ability. All profits from this concert will go to the Levels Teen Center at the Great Neck Library.
