In this hilariously heartwarming story, a prequel to Copeland's hit solo show Not a Genuine Black Man, a young Brian heads to the 'mean streets' of Oakland to buy his mom a Christmas present. Presented as a workshop production to San Francisco audiences in December 2012, the show was an instant success, drawing larger audiences with each performance despite its under-the-radar profile.

This is a limited engagement through January 5, 2014. Public Theater Extends FUN HOME Through 12/1

Due to overwhelming demand, The Public Theater announced a second two-week extension for the critically acclaimed world premiere musical FUN HOME, directed by Sam Gold and featuring music by Jeanine Tesori, with book and lyrics by Lisa Kron. Based on Alison Bechdel's beloved graphic novel, FUN HOME began performances on Monday, September 30 and was originally extended two weeks through November 17. The musical opened on Tuesday, October 22 to critical acclaim and has now been extended an additional two weeks through Sunday, December 1 since there is limited ticket availability through November 17.
