The New York City Center Encores! production of Frank Loesser's The Most Happy Fella opened earlier this week on April 2. The production stars Laura Benanti, Shuler Hensley, Cheyenne Jackson,Heidi Blickenstaff, Brian Cali, Bradley Dean, Zachary James, Jay Armstrong Johnson, Jessica Molaskey and Kevin Vortmann. The Most Happy Fella is directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, with music direction by Rob Berman. The production will run until April 6th.

Written by Scott Z. Burns and directed by Steven Soderbergh, this world premiere began previews at The Public on Tuesday, March 25 and runs through Sunday, April 27 in The Public's Newman Theater with an official press opening on Tuesday, April 15. Roundabout Theatre Company's revival of Cabaret by Joe Masteroff, John Kander and Fred Ebb, featuring three-time Academy Award nominee Michelle Williams for the first time on Broadway as Sally Bowles, and Alan Cumming, reprising his Tony Award-winning role as the Emcee, is currently in previews on Broadway. CABARET will play a 24-week limited engagement, with an official opening on April 24, 2014 at the newly transformed Kit Kat Klub at Studio 54. The Public Theater's production of David Byrne and Alex Timbers' smash hit musical, Here Lies Love, has been recorded and will be released on April 22nd, just one week into its upcoming open-ended commercial run at The Public Theater's LuEsther Hall (425 Lafayette Street, New York City).

Producers Paul Blake and Sony/ATV Music Publishing announced today that Beautiful-The Carole King Musical, about the early life and career of the legendary and groundbreaking singer/songwriter, will offer a special added performance to benefit The Actors Fund on Sunday, April 27 at 8:00 PM. The company of Beautiful will donate their time and talent for the performance, for an audience which will include cast members from current Broadway shows and other areas of the entertainment community. All proceeds will go to The Actors Fund, which helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment. Beautiful opened on Broadway at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 West 43rd Street), on Sunday, January 12, 2014, where it's playing to sold-out crowds and has broken multiple box office records.
