The Public Theater announced a second extension today for the world premiere musical HAMILTON, beginning previews on Tuesday, January 20 in The Public's Newman Theater. Inspired by the book "Alexander Hamilton" by Ron Chernow, with book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and directed by Thomas Kail, HAMILTON will now run through Sunday, April 5 with an official press opening on Tuesday, February 17.

Broadway In Chicago has announced that the 2014 Tony Award winner for Best Musical, A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder, will open its National Tour at the Bank of America Theatre (18 W Monroe) in September 2015. The show will play two weeks in Chicago September 29 - October 11, 2015 as the start of its 44-week National Tour.

Roundabout Theatre Company presents a new Off-Broadway production of Stephen Sondheim & James Lapine's Tony Award-winning Into the Woods. Directed by Noah Brody and Ben Steinfeld, this production premiered in May 2013 at the McCarter Theatre in association with the Fiasco Theater. Into the Woods began preview performances December 18, 2014 and officially opens on January 22, 2015 at the Laura Pels Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). Confirming earlier rumors, two production sources just told Deadline that Bradley Cooper will be heading across the pond with THE ELEPHANT MAN this April, following the play's final February 22 performance on Broadway.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Annie Baker's THE FLICK, which was honored with the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, will return to New York City at the Barrow Street Theatre. The Tony-winning musical BOOK OF MORMON said farewell to its most recent Elder Price and Elder Cuningham, Ben Platt and Nic Rouleau respectively, on January 4. Broadway favorite Gavin Creel, who has portrayed the role of Kevin Price on both the BOM national tour and in the London production, steps in as the egocentric missionary, beginning tonight, January 6th. Joining him as everyone's favorite sidekick will be Christopher John O'Neill.

WICKED just welcomed new cast members to the Gershwin Theatre last month. CAROLINE BOWMAN (Kinky Boots, Eva in the Broadway revival tour of Evita) stepped into the role of Elphaba, and KARA LINDSAY (original cast of Broadway's Newsies) assumed the role of Glinda, directly from playing the role on national tour. KATHY FITZGERALD returned to the Broadway company as Madame Morrible, a role she has played on Broadway and on national tour, and MATT SHINGLEDECKER (West Side Story) assumed the role of Fiyero.
