Barbara Windsor Backs Campaign for Joan Littlewood Sculpture

Barbara Windsor has joined Theatre Royal Stratford East's fundraising campaign to build a sculpture of the legendary director, Joan Littlewood. The theatre launches a public appeal to raise the final 40% needed for the sculpture International artist Philip Jackson has been commissioned to create the bronze sculpture. The sculpture is due to be installed in spring 2014 in Theatre Square and will coincide with theatre's staging of Oh What A Lovely War.

Review Roundup: THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS at the Young Vic

The Young Vic and Catherine Schreiber opened the UK premiere of The Scottsboro Boys, directed by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman. The production stars original Broadway cast members Colman Domingo, who reprises his Tony Award nominated role of Mr. Bones, and Forrest McClendon, who plays Mr. Tambo. Also in the Young Vic cast fresh from Broadway are Christian Dante-White (Charles Weems) and Clinton Roane (Roy Wright).

On Her Shoulders to Present TASTE OF HONEY Staged Reading, 9/16

Theatre Royal Stratford East Presents OH WHAT A LOVELY WAR, Feb 1

Theatre Royal Stratford East announces it will produce Oh What A Lovely War in 2014, directed by Terry Johnson and designed by Lez Brotherston, with tickets going on sale from 9th January 2013. The musical, which premiered at Theatre Royal Stratford East on 19th March 1963, will also coincide with the 100th Anniversary of World War I.

Corrie's Craig Kelly Stars in CHICKEN, Previewing Tonight, June 25

The West-End premiere of the dark and devilish comedy CHICKEN arrives at the Trafalgar Studio 2 from tonight, 25 June 2012, starring Craig Kelly - known from his roles as Luke Strong in Coronation Street and Vince Tyler in Queer as Folk - as Wendall. CHICKEN will play until Saturday 21 July 2012. The opening night is on Tuesday 26 June at 7pm.

Northern Stage And Sheffield Theatres Co-Produce VIRGINIA WOOLF, 3/16-4/30

Northern Stage (formerly Newcastle Playhouse) and Sheffield Theatres today announce their first collaboration, a new production of Edward Albee's "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?". The production will be directed by Northern Stage's Artistic Director Erica Whyman. "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" will play at Sheffield's Crucible Theatre (Wednesday 16 March - Thursday 7 April) and then continue to Northern Stage (Tuesday 12 April - Saturday 30 April).
