The CAPA Summer Movie Series, the longest-running classic film series in America, has announced the schedule for its 54th series of classic films and cult favorites. The 2023 series will run June 15-July 16 at the historic Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.) and feature 19 films over five weeks.

THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL is a rather bland tale that challenges a director to perk up the drama, which threatens to vanish once we must pull away from the close-ups on its elderly protagonist, Carrie Watts, that TV and movies so readily provide. In the current CPCC Theatre production at Pease Auditorium, Charles LaBorde has a more satisfying way with the script than Michael Wilson did in the recent Broadway revival.

Mother of Invention, under the Artistic Direction of Gina Stahlnecker has announced that Austin Pendleton will direct it's production of LOOK HOMEWARD, ANGEL, Ketti Frings' acclaimed 1957 play based on Thomas Wolfe's first and largely autobiographical novel, March 13 - 24 at Abingdon Theatre Company's Strelsin Theatre (312 West 36th St.).
