The ReGroup Theatre Company has been gifted with the private collection of rare film and theatre items from the Follies of God author. Follies of God is the name of the popular blog and forthcoming book on Tennessee Williams and the women in his life. http://jamesgrissom.blogspot.com/ Most items for auction were given to the author by the people he interviewed.

On the heels of TCM's record breaking film memorabilia auction this week, there's no Maltese Falcon but plenty of other amazing (and affordable) items up for auction at http://regrouptheatre.org/2013_Auction.html

Items include many Tennessee Williams' items including posters/lobby cards for BOOM!, The Glass Menagerie, Baby Doll, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Rose Tattoo and many more. Stars featured in the collection are Elizabeth Taylor, Marlon Brando, Paul Newman, Anna Magnani, JoAnne Woodward, Joan Fontaine, Joan Crawford, Noel Coward, Richard Burton, Andy Williams, Jo Van Fleet, Patricia Neal, Julie Harris, Sidney Lumet, Warren Beatty, Elia Kazan and many, many more!

All proceeds benefit the ReGroup Theatre. To see the items, visit http://regrouptheatre.org/2013_Auction.html.

The ReGroup Theatre is a 501(c)(3) company, aiming to explore the roots of the American Theatre in order to cultivate and shape the direction of where the theatre needs to go. Like the original Group Theatre, who were in the midst of a terrible economy, were competing with trivial dramatic fare, and had an audience that was losing interest in the power of the Theatre, the ReGroup has chosen to 'act,' and attempt to capture that same spirit. We are using the Group's amazing collection of "lost" plays in an attempt to reeducate audiences as to the potential of great Theatre, as well as to re-stimulate the creative interests and aspirations of actors and playwrights, helping to remind them of the potential impact of Theatre.

The ReGroup has announced Paul Green's The House of Connelly as their next production, starting Jan 23 at TBG Theatre Mainstage. For more, go to www.regrouptheatre.org.
