PlayhouseSquare today announced its line-up for the 2012-2013 KeyBank Broadway Series. The nation's largest performing arts complex outside of New York City, PlayhouseSquare is currently celebrating 90 years.

Today in 2009, Guys and Dolls opened at the Nederlander Theatre, where it ran for 121 performances. Guys and Dolls is a musical with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. It is based on 'The Idyll of Miss Sarah Brown' and 'Blood Pressure', two short stories by Damon Runyon, and also borrows characters and plot elements from other Runyon stories, most notably 'Pick the Winner'. Premiering on Broadway in 1950, the original production ran for 1200 performances and won the Tony Award for Best Musical. The musical has had several Broadway revivals as well as West End productions.

When those storied gangsters from the classic musical "roll" into town at the Fox on August 16, joining them will be Atlanta native and favorite, Glen Rainey. The July Sessions of JPAS Summer Youth Musical Theatre are about to take the stage on the East and West banks at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center in Metairie and the Westwego Performing Arts Theatre. Kids in 3rd-7th grades will present a fun-filled production of SEUSSICAL, JR. July 22, 23 at 7:30PM & July 24 at 2PM at the Westwego Performing Arts Theatre (177 Sala Ave. in Westwego).
