Tony and Emmy Award-winning actress and singer Leslie Uggams (Roots, Hallelujah, Baby!) will open a new window this holiday season when she stars in Jerry Herman's glorious musical MAME at the Wick Theatre in Boca Raton, Florida. Based on the 1955 novel Auntie Mame by Patrick Dennis, this Tony Award-nominated classic is filled with irresistible songs including 'Open a New Window,' 'We Need a Little Christmas,' 'Bosom Buddies' and 'If He Walked into My Life.' The book is by Jerome Lawrence and Robert Edwin Lee with music and lyrics by Jerry Herman.

South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center presents An Evening of Broadway Songs and the Carbonell Award Winners on Saturday, October 25 at 7:30pm and 9:30pm as part of the Center's Cabaret Series. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 day of show and can be purchased through the Box Office by calling 786-573-5300 or online at SMDCAC.org. A portion of the proceeds for this event will support the Carbonell scholarships awarded to graduating high school seniors to pursue a degree in theater or journalism. The time is 1910 but the gamesmanship is timeless in Karoline Leach's Tryst, a suspenseful, romantic, psychological thriller that concludes Palm Beach Dramaworks' 2013-2014 season. Tryst opens on Friday, May 16 (8pm) and continues through June 8 at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre (201 Clematis Street), with specially priced previews on May 14 and 15.

Monty Python's SPAMALOT, the 2005 Tony Award-winner for Best Musical, returns to spread laughter and cheer throughout the Kingdom of South Florida for a limited engagement at Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre from March 5 - 30, 2014.

Getting into the spirit of Halloween, the Maltz Jupiter Theatre opened its 2013-2014 season with Frederick Knott's tale of intrigue Dial M for Murder. Unlike the classic whodunit mystery, however, the play revolves not on solving the crime but on watching the main character squirm as he tries to get away with murder.

Deception, jealousy and lies all make for the perfect mystery as the Maltz Jupiter Theatre kicks off its 2013/14 season with the thrilling classic drama Dial M for Murder. With shows that run October 27 - November 10, the plot follows a husband's plot to kill his unfaithful wife for money. But will his ingenious plan be exposed when the perfect murder goes awry? A hair-raising murder mystery filled with forbidden love, blackmail and backstabbers, this thriller will keep you on the edge of your seat.

The fast-paced anecdotal collection of vignettes takes a musical romp through the struggles and unexpected joys of being a parent in a completely relatable way, whether you are a parent or not. Mostly set up as, at least, PG-13 humor (never underestimate the comic effect of belting out a long curse word), Rated P surprises with a few tender moments from the women that will touch your heart when you least expect.

Rated P for Parenthood, the new Off-Broadway musical revue about the joys and quirks of having kids, will have its South Florida premiere at Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre from July 10 - August 11, 2013.

The Maltz Jupiter Theatre has earned 23 nominations for the 37th annual Carbonell Awards, South Florida's equivalent of the Tony Awards.

The 2013 Carbonell Nominations have been announced. The Carbonell Awards is a not-for-profit organization and is funded by tax-deductible donations and award sponsorships. Opportunities to sponsor an award category and appear on stage to announce the winner are still available.
