SketchFest Executive Producer Jill Valentine is thrilled to announce the official line-up for the 17th Annual Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival, taking place January 11 through 21, 2018 at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont. Fusing SketchFest veterans with fresh new faces, and local favorites with award-winning international ensembles, Chicago SketchFest is the true essence of a comedic melting pot. Since its debut in 2002, the Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival has grown to a sketch comedy oasis and the largest festival of its kind in the world, attracting over 1,000 artists and 10,000 patrons annually.

In tandem with celebrating forty years of producing off-loop theater, Stage 773,1225 W Belmont, Chicago, is excited to announce their upcoming contributions to the Chicago theater community, and welcome home many in the Chicago arts industry with The Homecoming Campaign, running from September to December 2017.

The LIVINGroom announces the lineup and details for the first installment of its 2017 solo performance season at Stage 773. Coming from the worlds of improv, sketch comedy, theatre, and solo performance, performers Travis Barnhart, Bo Johnson, Sheila O'Connor, Mollie Rehner, and Jill Valentine join LIVINGroom ensemble members Carly Jo Geer and Megan Powell on Sundays, March 12, 19, and 26 in The LIVINGroom: Hot Mess, directed by Stage 773 Creative Director Brian Posen.

 Stage 773 Director of Theatre Management Jill Valentine and co-producer Liz McArthur are happy to announce that they are now accepting applications for the 6th Annual Chicago Women's Funny Festival, taking place June 15 through June 18.  The Chicago Women's Funny Festival features all comedic art forms including stand up, sketch, solo, vaudeville, improvisational, musical and more. The event packs over 80 shows, featuring over 500 performers from over 160 groups into four funny-filled days. The largest Scottish cultural organization in North America, the CHICAGO SCOTS, celebrates three decades of providing entertainment and Scottish culture with a modern twist this June, with their annual Scottish Festival and Highland Games. Taking place Friday, June 17, and Saturday, June 18 at Hamilton Lakes, 1 Pierce Place, Itasca, IL, the beloved summer celebration, the largest festival of its kind in the Midwest, will feature an extravaganza of activities and attractions from the Caber Toss to the Highland Dance to the Dogs of Scotland. This family-friendly event is a chance to explore Scottish culture without buying a plane ticket. Event proceeds benefit the CHICAGO SCOTS' principle charities that provide assisted living and first class memory care at two locations: The Scottish Home and The Caledonian House.

Pride Films and Plays has announced the results of our LezPlay contest. The judges have named five finalists, including a teleplay and four stage plays. and these writers will have their scripts presented as staged readings during LezPlay Weekend, which runs September 11-13 at the Hoover-Leppen Theatre of Center on Halsted.

The Cowardly Scarecrow Theatre Company, INC has announced the craziest performance in Musical of the Living Dead history - Two casts in the same performance - Musical of the Living Dead: Double Tap. For the closing performance on Saturday, Nov. 9 every single cast member (a total of 22 actors) will perform, adding a unique element to the performance: 'tapping' each other in and out in a tag team fashion throughout the show to create the ULTIMATE Musical of the Living Dead experience. To add to the madness, more than one actor might perform the same song or scene...simultaneously. The audience could see two Frans, one Steve, Judy give birth to herself - or even cameos by the show's creators, Marc Lewallen and Brand Younts. Anything could happen in this not-to-be-missed performance.
