Broadway Stars Edie Falco & Toni Collette Lead Showtime's 2010 Line-Up

SHOWTIME has announced the air dates for some its highly-anticipated programming for first and second quarter 2010. Highlighting the new schedule will be a Monday comedy block pairing of the second season of SHOWTIME's acclaimed Nurse Jackie starring Emmy award-winner Edie Falco leading into the second season of United States of Tara showcasing Toni Collette in her Emmy award-winning title role. Nurse Jackie will premiere on Monday, March 22 at 10:00 PM ET/PT followed by United States of Tara at 10:30 PM ET/PT.

Sense & Sensibility, the new musical originally developed in the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop in New York - which has nurtured Broadway shows such as Avenue Q, Ragtime, and A Chorus Line - will get an industry reading at Playwrights Horizons on November 16. The musical most recently had a development reading at the Berkshire Musical Theater Workshop this past May.

Shami Chaikin of Famed Chaikin Family, Gets Critically Injured in Motor Accident

According to a report in the New York Post, off-Broadway star Shami Chaikin, sister of the late, famed director Joseph Chaikin, was critically injured in Greenwich Village on Bleeker Street and 8th Avenue yesterday morning when a garbage truck hit her on her mobility scooter. Chaikin, 78, who had been riding in the bicycle lane underwent surgery at St. Vincent's hospital and remains in critical condition.

The entire cast and all-star band of HAIR, the Tony-Award Winning Best Musical Revival, will perform live in-studio on CBS's 'The Early Show' this Friday, November 6th. The cast will perform songs from the hit musical as part of the show's 'Time Machine' Series. Friday's show takes viewers back in time to - you guessed it - 1967, the year HAIR had its world premiere at the Public Theater.
