U.S. Premiere of SCENES FROM A MARRIAGE, THE INVISIBLE HAND & FOREVER Set for NYTW's 2014-15 Season

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) has announced that its 2014/15 season will include the U.S. premiere of Scenes from a Marriage written by Ingmar Bergman, adapted by Emily Mann and directed by Ivo van Hove; the New York premiere of The Invisible Hand, written by Ayad Akhtar and directed by Ken Rus Schmoll; and the New York premiere of Forever, writtenand performed by Dael Orlandersmith and directed by Neel Keller. In the coming weeks NYTW will announce an additional production that will round out the season.

New York Theatre Workshop's RED-EYE TO HAVRE DE GRACE to Begin April 22

Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director Jeremy Blocker have announced that Red-Eye to Havre de Grace will begin performances Tuesday, April 22 at 7pm at New York Theatre Workshop, 79 East 4 Street, between Second Avenue and Bowery. Red-Eye to Havre de Grace is by Lucidity Suitcase Intercontinental, created by Thaddeus Phillips, Jeremy Wilhelm, David Wilhelm, Geoff Sobelle, Sophie Bortolussi with Ean Sheehy and music by Wilhelm Bros. & Co. and direction and stage design by Thaddeus Phillips, Opening night is set for Thursday, May 1 at 7pm. Red-Eye to Havre de Grace is scheduled to run through Sunday, June 1, 2014.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director Jeremy Blocker have announced that following rave reviews and strong box office, What's It All About? Bacharach Reimagined, music by Burt Bacharach; lyrics by Hal David and others; musical arrangements by Kyle Riabko; conceived by Kyle Riabko and David Lane Seltzer; directed by Steven Hoggett, will extend four weeks through Sunday, February 2, at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. What's It All About? had originally been scheduled to run throughSunday, January 5, 2014.

CTG to Present HOW TO BE A ROCK CRITIC Staged Reading at the Kirk Douglas Theatre, 12/15

Lester Bangs, the rock critic who reached iconic status in the 1970s with his passionate, intellectually honest writing, is the subject of "How to be a Rock Critic," presented in a staged reading as part of DouglasPlus at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre, Sunday, December 15 at 1 p.m. The reading will take place in the Douglas' rehearsal space, Upstairs@KDT.

Macy, Wendie Malick and Brent Spiner will star in a staged reading of Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen's acclaimed docudrama THE EXONERATED, which will be the closing event of Theatricum Botanicum's 40th Anniversary Season.

The enduring music of Burt Bacharach is given new life as musician and actor Kyle Riabko (Spring Awakening, Hair) performs his unique, soulful arrangements of the Bacharach songbook with an eclectic group of young musicians and performers. Steven Hoggett, whose choreography has been featured in such diverse works as Once, Peter and the Starcatcher, andBlack Watch, returns to NYTW, this time as director. What's It All About? is a re-introduction to the timeless music of Bacharach through the eyes and ears of a new generation.

Opening night is set for Thursday, September 12 at 7pm. Fetch Clay, Make Man is scheduled to run through Sunday, October 13; tickets are on sale now.

Plays by Robert O'Hara, Jessica Blank & More Set for The Public's NEW WORK NOW! Series, Begin. 9/9

The Public Theater announced the September line-up today for NEW WORK NOW!, the free reading series that allows audiences an opportunity to experience new work by a diverse selection of established and emerging theater artists. NEW WORK NOW! will run September 9 to September 21 in The Public's Martinson Theater (425 Lafayette Street). Now in its twentieth season, NEW WORK NOW! is an important part of The Public Theater's ongoing commitment to developing and mentoring new voices for the American Theater.

Center Theatre Group Awarded $1 Million Mellon Grant

Center Theatre Group (CTG) has been awarded a four-year, $1 million grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The grant will make possible a program focusing on collaboratively created contemporary work from ensembles, devisers and writers, supporting the creative arc from commissioning through development and production; the program will build on the work generated by a multi-year 2009 Mellon Foundation grant supporting the development of non-text based work.

The Exonerated by Jessica Blank & Erik Jensen, is set to be produced by 2nd Story Theatre, Ed Shea, Artistic Director, in collaboration with Mixed Magic Theatre, Jonathan Pitts-Wiley, Artistic Director, from May 31 - June 30. The show will be performed at the Bristol Statehouse, 240 High Street, Bristol, RI.
