The Tony Award winning Best Musical Avenue Q will mark its 15th anniversary with 15 special performances at New World Stages (340 W. 50 St.) from July 18 to 29, 2018.

On May 20, The Camelot Theatre in Palm Springs previewed an incredible new documentary, 'The Show Goes On', about the life and career of Broadway, Film and Television Icon Kaye Ballard to a 'more than full house'. In fact, two theatres were opened for the screening since demand far exceeded the number of seats in the main house. With her typically self-deprecating humor, Ms. Ballard proclaims herself 'The Greatest Star You Hardly Knew', and the beautifully constructed 90 minute film details her extraordinary accomplishments from Broadway's 'Carnival', 'The Golden Apple', 'Molly' and 'Pirates Of Penzance' to her stellar nightclub, film and television career including 'The Doris Day Show' and the beloved and  iconic 'Mother's In Law' with Eve Arden. It highlights the extraordinary talents of Ms. Ballard and doesn't shy away from the disappointments and challenges along the way, featuring interviews with Woody Allen, Carol Channing, Hal Prince, Carol Burnett, Michael Feinstein, Joy Behar and more. Hal Prince boldly states 'if Kaye Ballard had been cast as the mother in 'Gypsy,' 'she would have made history.' I had the chance to visit with Ms. Ballard at her home on 'Kaye Ballard Lane' in Rancho Mirage (the home formerly owned by her friend and TV director, Desi Arnaz) to talk about the film and more. Here are a few excerpts from the conversation:

George Street Playhouse has announced that its Annual Gala Benefit - a one-of-a-kind evening featuring stars of Broadway, film and television - will take place Sunday, May 6, 2018, 5 p.m., at The Heldrich Hotel in New Brunswick. This year, George Street Playhouse celebrates the Arthur Laurents Centennial - a tribute to the playwright on what would have been his 100th birthday - and honors Dr. Penelope Lattimer, the Playhouse's current Board President, with the Thomas H. Kean Arts Advocacy Award.

AVENUE Q - the Tony Award-winning Best Musical that features a cast comprised of people and puppets - will celebrate WORLD PUPPETRY DAY on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 with what is to be an unprecedented large gathering of professional and amateur puppeteers and their puppets for a special performance and post-show soiree at New World Stages (Off-Broadway, 340 West 50th Street), starting at 8:00PM.

Following an initial extension last year, Paul Chowdhry has added another round of extra dates to his first nationwide tour in two years, with his new show Live innit. Following a virtual sell out of the entire tour so far, including a performance at Wembley Arena (which saw Paul become the first Asian stand-up to play a sold out show there) and two nights at Hammersmith Apollo - marking him as one of the UK's biggest selling live comedians - the new dates will see Paul revisit some of the UK's most prestigious venues, including a return to Hammersmith Apollo from 4th April 2018.

MCC THEATER has announced an all-star lineup of performers for their annual Miscast gala. Performers will include: Grammy and Tony Award nominee Sara Bareilles; Tony Award winners Jayne Houdyshell and James Monroe Iglehart; Tony Award nominees Ra l Esparza, Robert Fairchild, and Keala Settle; plus Hamilton star and reigning Dancing With the Stars champion Jordan Fisher, The Band's Visit star Katrina Lenk, Once on This Island star Alex Newell, and the voice of Moana, Auli'I Cravalho. 'Simpler Times' stars Jerry Stiller and features special guest Anne Meara in their last onscreen appearance together. The made-for-TV film from director/writer Steve Monarque will kick off the 'Stars in Shorts' block on ShortsTV Channel at 2pm and 5pm on Saturday, December 9th.
