Iconic singer Cyndi Lauper joined TODAY's Kathie Lee and Hoda this morning to talk about the global expansion of her musical KINKY BOOTS, her struggles with psoriasis, and a couple of new projects, including Broadway work and a new album.

Kinky Boots, the smash-hit musical that brings together four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Tony and Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony Award-winner for Best Score for Kinky Boots) debuts at the Hennepin Theatre Trust's Orpheum Theatre (910 Hennepin Ave., downtown Minneapolis) tonight, July 28-Aug. 2, 2015 as the final production in the 2014-2015 Thrivent Financial Broadway on Hennepin Season. Since the 2014-15 Season at the Durham Performing Arts Center has wrapped up, I decided to give you guys my top picks for what were some of the best (and the worst) productions I saw this past season. I've seen many quality productions within the past year, with one little exception.

Jerry Mitchell is currently developing a musical based on Terry Ronald's book, BECOMING NANCY, and the Daily Mail writes that Sophie-Louise Dann, Sally Ann Triplett (pictured, left) and newcomer Keith Ramsay have been tapped to a lead a workshop of the coming-of-age tale.

British pop is headed to the stage in the new piece THE BRITISH INVASION MUSICAL (working title) from the co-creator of JERSEY BOYS. The New York Post writes that SOMETHING ROTTEN!'s Christian Borle will star a workshop of the project this Wednesday.

On Your Feet!, a new musical based on the life story of seven-time GRAMMY winning international superstar Gloria Estefan and her husband, legendary producer-musician-entrepreneur Emilio Estefan, just concluded its pre-Broadway World Premiere in Chicago.Next, the show will transfer to Broadway's Marquis Theatre on October 5, 2015 and officially open on November 5, 2015. BroadwayWorld has just confirmed the final casting for the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of Monty Python's Spamalot, the parody of the Arthurian Legend which won the Tony for Best Musical in 2005. Those joining the starry company are Broadway vets Kevin Chamberlin as Sir Bedevere, Tom Deckman as Not Dead Fred, and Rick Holmes as Sir Lancelot.
