The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) today announced the complete schedule for the 2009 Festival, which will begin September 28th and continue through October 18th. A full breakdown of this year's performances and venues follows.

In addition to the previously announced 27 full productions, The New York Musical Theatre Festival (Isaac Robert Hurwitz, Executive Director & Producer) today announced two dance productions, nine special events and concerts, and three developmental readings that will all take place during this year?s three-week festival.

A season ticket subscription is available that includes Smokey Joe's Café, Hamlet, Almost, Maine, Baby with the Bathwater, and Rent. Camelot: In Concert is available as a special add-on to the season subscription. Subscription prices for the five show season are: Weekdays and Matinees: $68 regular admission / $60 seniors. Friday and Saturdays: $80 regular admission/ $68 seniors. Camelot:In Concert reduced price tickets for season subscribers are Weekdays and Matinees: $18 regular admission/$16 seniors. In November, Paper Mill produces the classic song and dance spectacular On the Town. The winter months bring Lost in Yonkers, a Neil Simon classic to brighten the stage and warm your heart. Spring is twisting and jiving with the 1950's rock ?n' roll extravaganza Smokey Joe's Caf?. The season closes with the internationally acclaimed classic Peter Pan.

Weddington Street Productions in association with Corky Hale Productions presents Leiber and Stoller's award winning musical Smokey Joe's Café with an all star cast and orchestra on the Mainstage of the historic El Portal in North Hollywood (NoHo). The show previews on Dec. 10,11,12 with a gala premiere opening on Saturday, December 13.

Corky Hale, renowned Jazz pianist, harpist and vocalist, will be a judge for the 8th Annual World Soundtrack Awards, sponsored by the World Soundtrack Academy as the closing event of the 35th Annual Ghent Film Festival, to be held in Ghent, Belgium from October 7 - 18, 2008

Now that the 50th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony is history, and before the Tony Awards season sneaks up on us, it might be a good time to do a little investigating into the relationship between the category that both award shows recognize-Best Musical, of course.

American Musical Theatre of San Jose will sizzle and shake with 'Smokey Joe's Café,' the longest running musical revue in Broadway history. This rollicking show recreates 40 chart-topping hits from the legendary creative team of Jerry Leiber (lyrics) and Mike Stoller (music). Opening April 10 with performances through April 22.
