The best new Broadway play of the season* Reasons To Be Pretty will welcome its playwright Neil LaBute to New York City this weekend for an unprecedented series of rare public appearances. LaBute and director Terry Kinney will participate in an event at Borders in the Time Warner Center (10 Columbus Circle) this Saturday, 5/9 at 5:00 p.m.

The current Broadway revival of HAIR is set to launch a national touring production during the 2010-11 season reports Variety.

Broadway In Chicago is thrilled to present Broadway's most talked about new musical and the biggest Tony Award®-winner in years this summer. Running counter to conventional wisdom, audiences are encouraged to turn ON their cell phones prior to the performance to participate in a social experiment by texting ?pretty' to a special phone number. They are then given the opportunity to rate themselves - and the person sitting next to them - on a scale of 1 to 10 (from Carrot Top to Angelina Jolie). Results from that performance's participants are texted back at intermission and are posted online. Broadway?s most talked about new musical and the biggest Tony Award?-winner in years is coming to the Providence Performing Arts Center. Called ?an unexpected jolt of sudden genius? by the Clive Barnes of the New York Post, SPRING AWAKENING, the 8-time Tony Award?-winning Broadway musical, will play from April 21 ? 26 and is part of the 2008/2009 Citizens Bank Broadway Series.

The producers of HAIR announced today that the new Broadway production, which opened March 31st to critical (and audience) acclaim, has set a new box office record at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street). For the week of April 13 ? 19, HAIR?s net sales were $861,450.48, the highest for any eight-show week at the 1,400 seat theater, which opened in 1924.

HAIR began preview performances on Friday, March 6th, and celebrated its official opening night on Tuesday, March 31, 2009. After a smash-hit run at Central Park's Delacorte Theater last summer, HAIR returns to Broadway for the first time in over 30 years.

HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical 37-member cast and band went into the studio on Monday, April 6th, to record the show's new Broadway cast album. Production is being rushed for the highly anticipated recording which will be released officially this Spring by Ghostlight Records. The CD is produced by Kurt Deutsch, Joel Moss & Galt McDermott with Bill Rosenfield acting as Executive Producer.
