On Friday, May 26th, Actor's Theatre of Columbus celebrated their 36th year of performing in the historic Schiller Park by hosting its annual tent dinner and fundraiser. When disco diva, Deloris Van Cartier, witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won't be found: a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior. Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community but, in doing so, blows her cover. Soon, the gang is giving chase, only to find themselves up against Deloris and the power of her newly found sisterhood. On Saturday, April 8th the Pleasure Guild of Nationwide Children's Hospital presented "A Whimsical Soiree" at The Lincoln Theatre. This special night celebrated 60 years of Pleasure Guild play memories with a special performance of songs from a beloved history of musicals. Guests were be surprised with the announcement of the 2018 Pleasure Guild play followed by a VIP reception. New Vision Dance Co. presents ' UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL, vol. 2', a contemporary program of intimate solo choreography both created and performed by the company. This is our 2nd annual presentation of an evening of solo works and small dance pieces. Artistic director, Melissa Gould will also reveal works in progress inspired by the challenges of confined space. Audience members will experience inventive movement in the immersive Green Room at Short North Stage in five individual hour-long performances. Proceeds support the company's upcoming 2017 season. Jon Trachtman and Leslie Arthur are out of work musicians who room together in New York City. To save money, Jon has been filing tax returns listing the pair as a married. The day of reckoning comes when the Internal Revenue Service informs the 'couple' they're going to be investigated. Leslie masquerades as a housewife, aided by Jon's fiancee, Kate. Complicating matters further Leslie and Kate are having an affair behind Jon's back, Jon's mother drops in unexpectedly to meet her son's fiancee, and Leslie's ex girlfriend Connie shows up demanding to know why Leslie has changed and won't see her anymore. Like a cross between I Love Lucy and Three's Company! A favorite classic returns to the Ohio University Lancaster Theatre stage! 'The Fantasticks' is the longest-running musical in the world.
