Bristol Riverside Theatre today announced its 2012-2013 mainstage season featuring Oleanna by David Mamet, What a Glorious Feeling written by Jay Berkow and based on the film Singin' in the Rain, the world premiere of Faery Tales by Allan Knee, Gilbert & Sullivan's popular operetta The Pirates of Penzance, and Inherit the Wind by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee.

Goodspeed Musicals will "coax the blues right out 'a the horn" with its much-anticipated new production of Mame. The bold and brassy musical comedy will run from April 20 - July 1 at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Conn. Mame will be sponsored by Liberty Bank, Mohegan Sun, and The Shops at Mohegan Sun. [Official Press Opening will be May 9, 2012.] Come along for the madcap adventures of Auntie Mame and her adoring nephew. Surrounded by an eccentric cast of characters, she celebrates the Roaring 20s, overcomes tragedy and sails through life without missing a fad or a dance step. Jerry Herman's delightful score is packed with favorites "Bosom Buddies," "We Need a Little Christmas" and more. Brimming with optimism and zest, Mame will keep you laughing while warming your heart!

Be among the first to purchase tickets for all three shows at Goodspeed Musicals, the first regional theatre in the nation to receive two Tony Awards.

Photo Flash: First Look at Old Globe's SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL

The Old Globe today announced principal casting for the Globe's 2012 Shakespeare Festival. Craig Noel Award winner Jay Whittaker returns to the Festival for his third consecutive season to appear in the title role of William Shakespeare's Richard III. He will also appear as Oliver in Shakespeare's As You Like It. Also returning to the Festival are Craig Noel Award winner Robert Foxworth and Adrian Sparks, who will take to the courtroom floor as titanic lawyers Henry Drummond and Matthew Harrison Brady, respectively, in the Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee classic Inherit the Wind. Foxworth, an Old Globe Associate Artist, will also play Lord Hastings in Richard III, and Sparks will play Lord Mayor of London in Richard III and Corin in As You Like It. Festival veteran Dana Green will star as Rosalind, and Dan Amboyer, new to the Festival stage, will play Orlando, the object of her affections, in As You Like It. Green will also play Queen Elizabeth in Richard III. Amboyer will also be featured as Bertram Cates in Inherit the Wind and the Earl of Richmond in Richard III. Festival newcomer Jacques C. Smith will play Jacques in As You Like It, the Duke of Buckingham in Richard III and Mr. Meeker in Inherit the Wind. Adrian Noble returns for his third outing as Artistic Director of the Shakespeare Festival and will helm As You Like It and Inherit the Wind. Renowned British director Lindsay Posner makes his debut at the Globe with his production of Richard III. Noble recently directed the World Premiere stage version of The King's Speech, which is currently touring England, and Posner's hit revival of Noises Off is currently playing at London's Old Vic and will transfer to the West End in March. The 2012 Shakespeare Festival, performed in repertory in the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre, runs June 3 - Sept. 30, 2012.

Tilda Swinton Working on Film Remake of AUNTIE MAME

According to the New York Times, Oscar winner Tilda Swinton is currently collaborating with director Luca Guadagnino to create a film a remake of 'Auntie Mame.' Swinton woud play the title role in the movie.

MAME & CAROUSEL Set for Goodspeed's 2012 Season!

Two time Tony Award-winning Goodspeed Musicals, under the leadership of Executive Director Michael P. Price, announced the 2012 musical season at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Conn. The 49th season includes three outstanding musicals that are sure to delight theatregoers: the bold and brassy Mame will run from April 20 - July 1; Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel will run from July 13 - September 23; and an exciting fall musical to be announced which will run from October 5 - December 9.

Our sixth season will be a season of rediscovery. Join us as we bring to life five classic musicals and one comedy show. 'Make life a banquet' as we kick off 2012 with the hilarious and entertaining antics of Mame. Join us for a riotous, madcap comedy that will get everyone caught in the act with Michael Frayn's Noises Off. Next up, bring the entire family to the Theatre as we explore the mysterious wonders of The Secret Garden with 11-year old Mary Lennox.

Anne Cattaneo Wins 2011 Margo Jones Award

The Ohio State University Arts and Humanities and University Libraries' Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee Theatre Research Institute has announced that it will present the prestigious 2011 Margo Jones Award to Lincoln Center Theater dramaturg Anne Cattaneo. The award, which will be presented to Ms. Cattaneo in a ceremony in the Vivian Beaumont Theater lobby on Monday, July 11 beginning at 5:30, is given annually to a 'citizen-of-the-theatre who has demonstrated a significant impact, understanding and affirmation of the craft of playwriting, with a lifetime commitment to the encouragement of the living theatre everywhere.'

Civic Theatre Presents AUNTIE MAME, Closes 5/22

South Bend Civic Theatre will present Jerome Lawrence & Robert E. Lee's classic comedy Auntie Mame, directed by Mary Hubbard, will play the Wilson Mainstage Auditorium on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from May 6 to May 22.
