On November 27 and 28, 2009 Rebecca Luker will join Shirley Jones and the National Symphony Orchestra Pops for NSO Pops: The Music of The Music Man. These concert reviews of songs from Meredith Willson's The Music Man will be led by Principal Pops Conductor Marvin Hamlisch and will also feature the City Choir of Washington. The performances will take place during Thanksgiving weekend in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall on Friday, November 27 at 1:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., and on Saturday, November 28 at 8 p.m.

As previously reported, Michael Feinstein and Dame Edna have decided to collaborate on their upcoming show efforts and will jointly star in All About Me. The New York Times has reported today that All About Me shall run at the Golden Theater. Previews will begin on February 19 with an official opening night of March 18.

Irving Berlin's I Love A Piano, an enchanting new musical revue that spans over seven decades of American history, comes to Kanbar Hall at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco (JCCSF) for two performances on November 20 and 21 at 8 pm.

Additional casting has been announced for the upcoming THE MUSIC MAN concert produced by the National Symphony Orchestra Pops in the NSO Pops series. Todd A. Horman will play the role of Marcellus and Joseph Serafini will play Winthrop. Horman and Serafini join Shirley Jones, the original Marian from the film version of The Music Man, as well as Rebecca Luker and Patrick Cassidy as Harold Hill.

The 92nd Street Y has announced casting for the 2010 season of Lyrics & Lyricists. Lucie Arnaz, Debby Boone, Capathia Jenkins, James Naughton and Raúl Esparza are among the performers who will present the music of the Desi Arnaz Orchestra, Johnny Burke and Hoagy Carmichael. The season also includes a night of songs made famous by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, and one devoted to the art of the satirical song, featuring works by Tom Lehrer, 'Yip' Harburg, Stephen Sondheim and others. The season is curated by series artistic director Deborah Grace Winer, and a line-up of guest artistic directors - Lucie Arnaz, Daryl Sherman, Rob Fisher, and Ted Sperling.

ANDREA MARCOVICCI - the celebrated singer and actress lauded as 'the greatest cabaret star of her generation' by The International Herald Tribune and 'the epitome of elegance and showbiz savvy' by Variety - will celebrate the 2009 Johnny Mercer Centennial with the New York premiere of her new show 'Skylark: Marcovicci Sings Mercer' at the Oak Room of the Algonquin Hotel (59 West 44th Street) from November 17 to December 26.

Second in the series of salons presented by 42nd Street Moon is a tribute to Ira Gershwin. The January 28th salon will be led by Broadway veteran Donna McKechnie. Also joining the cast is Klea Blackhurst, as well as Bill Fahrner, Alexandra Kaprelian and Darlene Popovich.

Singer/songwriter Michael Feinstein was appointed today as the new director of Jazz at Lincoln Center. Feinstein will arrange three jazz programs to take place in 2010, as well as a family oriented evening that will discuss the connection between jazz and songwriting. Michael Feinstein's upcoming Broadway show ALL ABOUT ME will begin performances on Saturday, March 13th, 2010 in preparation for a Tuesday, March 30th opening, at a Shubert Theater to be announced.
