Westport Country Playhouse Announces 2012-13 Family Festivities Series

Westport Country Playhouse has announced its 2012-13 Family Festivities Series, featuring song-filled presentations based on popular children's books, on selected Sundays from November through April, 1 and 4 p.m. Tickets are $18. Family Festivities is supported in part by a contribution from the First Niagara Bank Foundation. Family Festivities Partners are Meredith and David Bukzin.

How I Became a Pirate, adapted from the book by Melinda Long, plays Saturdays, March 10, 17, 24, & 31, 2012 at 1pm and 4pm, and during Spring Break at 11:30am: March 12, 13, 14 & 16 at Main Street Theater-Chelsea Market. Ticket prices for public performances are $12 and $14. Tickets are on sale in person at the Main Street Theater Box Office at 2540 Times Blvd. in Rice Village, via phone at 713.524.6706 or online at mainstreettheater.com. Group rates are available. No children under 3 are admitted in the theater (including sleeping babies).

The stage production is based on the book, How I Became a Pirate written by Melinda Long and Illustrations by David Shannon. The show will run January 26 - March 9 in the Center's Main Stage Theater before moving to the intimate Black Box Theater March 21 - April 14, 2012. Performances are 10am and noon, Tuesday through Friday, Saturdays at 11am - February 18, 25 and March 2 and 11am and 1pm, April 7 and 14.
