Columbia Children's Theatre's 10th Season Opens with HOW I BECAME A PIRATE, 9/19-28

Columbia Children's Theatre (CCT), the Midlands' only professional theatre for families and young audiences will present How I Became a Pirate, September 19-28. Show times are Friday, September 18 at 7:00 p.m.; Saturdays at 10:30 a.m., 2:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m.; and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. There will be a special "adults only" Late Night Date Night performance at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26. All shows are held at Columbia Children's Theatre on the 2nd level of Richland Mall, 3400 Forest Drive. Tickets are $10.00 for children three years of age through adult. The 7:00 p.m. performances on Saturday evenings will have a special ticket price of $5.00 for everyone. Advance tickets can be purchased online at www.columbiachildrenstheatre.com. Downtown Cabaret's HOW I BECAME A PIRATE Plays Greenwich Arts Council Today

The Greenwich Arts Council in collaboration with the Downtown Cabaret Children's Theatre in Bridgeport, Connecticut, introduces a new Fall program of cabaret-style theatrical productions for children and their families. The inaugural production will be How I Became a Pirate, specially adapted for the Council's performance space in the meeting room on the second floor at 299 Greenwich Avenue in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Downtown Cabaret Children's Theatre to Present HOW I BECAME A PIRATE, 10/5-27

The Downtown Cabaret Children's Theatre in Bridgeport, Connecticut, introduces its new Fall season of cabaret-style theatrical productions for children and their families with How I Became a Pirate, which is about young Jeremy Jacob who is digging in the sand at North Beach when he is enthusiastically greeted by Captain Braid Beard and his gang of jolly Pirates. Jeremy soon finds himself recruited to help find the perfect spot to bury the Pirates' treasure. The show will run Oct. 5-27.

Westport Country Playhouse Presents HOW I BECAME A PIRATE, 3/3

After two sold-out Family Festivities presentations so far this year, Westport Country Playhouse will present the musical adventure "How I Became a Pirate," as part of its Family Festivities Series, on Sunday, March 3, 1 and 4 p.m. Based on the best-selling book by Melinda Long and produced by the Omaha Theater Company, the presentation is recommended for ages 6 - 10.

Venice Theatre Announces 2013-2014 Season

Westport Country Playhouse announces that its presentation of "Fancy Nancy, The Musical" on Sunday, January 27, is sold out. Tickets are still available for upcoming shows in the Playhouse's Family Festivities Series, including "Junie B. Jones," on Sunday, February 10, starring outspoken, precocious, lovable Junie B. Jones in a new musical about new friends, new glasses, sugar cookies, and the annual kickball tournament.

Bristol Riverside Theatre Opens HOW I BECAME A PIRATE, 1/12

They're searching for buried treasure at Bristol Riverside Theatre as the Omaha Theatre Company comes to town for How I Became A Pirate, running January 12-13, 2013. Based on the best-selling children's book written by Melinda Long and illustrated by David Shannon, How I Became A Pirate has been adapted for the stage by award-winning composers/lyricists/playwrights Janet Yates Vogt and Mark Friedman.

ANGELINA BALLERINA Comes to Westport Country Playhouse, 12/9

"Angelina Ballerina, The Musical," featuring a feisty little mouse with big dreams of becoming a prima ballerina, will be part of Westport Country Playhouse's Family Festivities Series on Sunday, December 9, 1 and 4 p.m. Tickets are $18. Family Festivities is supported in part by a contribution from the First Niagara Bank Foundation. Family Festivities Partners are Meredith and David Bukzin.

Arvada Center Children's Theater Presents HOW I BECAME A PIRATE, Opening 10/18

On Oct 18, the Arvada Center opens the children's theater production How I Became a Pirate, book, music and lyrics by Janet Yates Vogt and Mark Friedman, directed by David and Julie Payne. The stage production is based on the book, How I Became a Pirate written by Melinda Long and illustrations by David Shannon. The show will run Oct 18 - Dec 28, 2012. Performances are 10 a.m. and noon, most Tuesdays through Fridays, select Saturdays at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. For specific show dates please check our website. How I Became a Pirate is recommended for ages four and up. Ticket prices range from $8 weekdays and $10 weekends and holidays for reserved seating.
