Carney will perform the song, composed by Bono and The Edge at the Hudson Theatre in the Millennium Hotel. The performance will be broadcast live during the 8am-9am hour. To be a part of the live audience, fans are encouraged to arrive at the Hudson Theatre by 6:30am on September 10. The song title will not be released until its debut on Friday.

SPIDER-MAN has made headlines again. The New York Times reports that press agent Adrian Bryan-Brown of Boneau/Bryan-Brown has cut ties with Broadway's upcoming SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK. Bryan-Brown's Thursday statement noted that he 'made the personal decision to resign this week,' and looked forward to seeing the production on Broadway. He has been working on the show for the past three years. The lead producer of the show, Michael Cohl, has accepted the resignation and appointed Rick Miramontez, president of firm O&M, to head future press for SPIDER-MAN.
In an interview with Examiner out yesterday, Reeve Carney reveals that SPIDER-MAN is indeed gearing up for rehearsals at last, beginning on August 10, 2010. Currently on tour with the UK band, Athlete, Carney's band, Carney, will play a final show in Chicago for 'Taste of Chicago' on July 4th and together head to New York to begin rehearsals for the show. The three additional members of the Carney band will play in SPIDER-MAN's orchestra pit.

Variety reports today that SPIDER-MAN, Turn Off the Dark is yet one step closer to opening at the Hilton Theatre on Broadway, as Marvel Comics has granted the production a 5th (and an alleged final) extension on the rights, in anticipation of a November or December opening. A topic the director couldn't avoid, according to the New York Times: the status of the upcoming SPIDER-MAN: Turn Off the Dark musical, which has experienced significant delays and cast changes due to a large finaincial fall out last fall.
Michael Riedel is reporting in the New York Post this morning that GRINCH star Patrick Page has been offered the role of Green Goblin in the upcoming SPIDER-MAN musical, replacing Alan Cumming who recently dropped out from the cast.
According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, Alan Cumming has cut ties with SPIDER-MAN: Turn Off The Dark. Cumming was to play the musical's villain, the Green Goblin. Cumming elected to depart the production this weekend, according to the report, due to new scheduling conflicts with The Good Wife, for which his role was recently expanded.

Roger Friedman of Showbiz411.com is reporting that producer David Garfinkle has told him that Spider-Man will be ready to make its Broadway debut this fall and that an announcement will be made soon regarding the shows schedule, as well a casting announcement as to who will replace Evan Rachel Wood.
It seems the producers are making good on promises of a resurrected SPIDER-MAN: Turn Off The Dark. According to the Actors Equity website, the production will begin holding ensemble auditions on April 13, 2010 (female dancers) and April 14, 2010 (male dancers) and April 16 (singers). According to the notices, the auditions will take place at 520 Ripley Grier.

Variety has confirmed that Evan Rachel Wood, who had been set to star as Mary Jane Watson in the much delayed Broadway production of SPIDER-MAN: Turn Off The Dark, has bowed out of the production altogether. A statement out from the producers claims that her departure is due to a 'scheduling conflict' but that a search is 'underway to find a new Mary Jane to join the rest of the cast in the production.'
