Beginning performances on Tuesday, May 3, TOM McGOWAN will assume the role of The Wizard in the Broadway company of WICKED. He joins a cast which includes Teal Wicks as Elphaba, Katie Rose Clarke as Glinda, Kathy Fitzgerald as Madame Morrible, Richard H. Blake as Fiyero, Etai BenShlomo as Boq, Jenny Fellner as Nessarose, and Tom Flynn as Dr. Dillamond.

ABC President Paul Lee spoke with reporters in more detail about the announced WICKED miniseries. 'It's epic, it's romantic, and it's very much within our brand,' he said. 'We're in the development stage. I don't know if we're going to get there, but the notion of having it resonate elsewhere in the company [is] a very good thing for us.'
Gregory Maguire's 'Wicked' will be hitting the small screen. The novel, source material for the enormously successful musical adaptation by Stephen Schwartz, will be produced by ABC Studios.

For the week ending Sunday, November 28, the musical, now in its 8th year, grossed $2,150,665, and for the week ending December 26, the musical surpassed its own record, grossing $2,153,110. For the week ending January 2, 2011, the musical shattered the record once again, making Broadway history by taking in an unprecedented $2,228,235 and setting a new house record at the Gershwin Theatre.
