ITALIAN DANCE CONNECTION ("IDACO nyc"), Vanessa Tamburi, Artistic Director and IDACO nyc co-founder, announced today its 2016 Festival Week, May 23-28, the organization's second annual contemporary dance and art event in NYC. A wide variety of artistic styles await audiences with over 20 dance companies, artists and filmmakers to participate. Dance workshops, creative residencies, thematic roundtables, site specifics, dance performances and an opening event at the Italian Cultural Institute will be included in the Festival week.  Events will be held in various locations; all dance performances are to be held at the Sheen Center,18 Bleecker Street, NYC.  

The Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition (VKIBC 2016) is dedicated to Violette Verdy, a wonderful human being as well as an early mentor of VKIBC and Valentina Kozlova. Ms. Verdy was a judge in the first edition of VKIBC and later a competition honorary chairman. This year's event will be held April 25-30, 2016 at Symphony Space (95th Street and Broadway) in New York City.

Peugh. Colossal begins with previews tonight, April 2 with a Pay-What-You-Can performance and runs through Sunday, May 3.

CHICAGO - The Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago presents four World Premieres in the fifth annual "Winning Works" program, the culmination of the 2015 Choreographers of Color Awards. Three of the new works come from this year's Award winners Jennifer Archibald, Abdul Latif and Stephanie Martinez. The fourth piece is a new workby Joffrey Academy Artistic Director Alexei Kremnev called Windy Sand with original music by Karen LeFrak. All four works are performed by dancers from the Joffrey Studio Company and the Joffrey Academy Trainee Program. The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust presents the poignant and contemporary choreography of Ronald K. Brown/Evidence tonight, February 7, 2015 at 8:00pm. This performance will take place at the Byham Theater, located at 101 Sixth Street, downtown Pittsburgh. The presentation is part of the 2014-15 Pittsburgh Dance Council season.
