Heather Headley will take her final bow as Shug Avery in the Tony-winning Broadway revival of The Color Purple this evening. Headley joined the company on May 10th after taking over the role from Jennifer Hudson. Jennifer Holliday will assume the role beginning October 4th.

For the event's sixth year, there is no more guessing. The organization has let the cat out of the bag, announcing The Roots will take the stage with special guest, Tony Award-winner Leslie Odom, Jr. of 'Hamilton' on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Modell Performing Arts Center at The Lyric.
