Cumberland County Playhouse to Host New Production of Broadway-bound LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE

Little House on the Prairie, the musical by Rachel Portman, Donna DiNovelli and Rachel Sheinkin based upon the series of books by Laura Ingalls Widler, will be given a new production with a revision of the script and score, at Cumberland County Playhouse, in Crossville.

Today in 2005, All Shook Up opened at the Palace Theatre, where it ran for 213 performances.All Shook Up is a jukebox musical with Elvis Presley music, with a book by Joe DiPietro. The story is based on William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. Directed by Christopher Ashley, with choreography by Ken Roberson, the original Broadway cast included Cheyenne Jackson (Chad), Jenn Gambatese (Natalie Haller/'Ed'), and Jonathan Hadary (Jim Haller).

'Predictable Heart: The Music of Justin Rugg' is described as an evening of story songs about life and love. Rugg's melodies are stirring, passionate and exciting, and his lyrics are honest, fresh, funny and often biting. Rugg's informal evening around the piano marks his cabaret debut and is also Pantochino's first 'grown-ups only' entertainment. The performance features fifteen original songs.

This July, Prospect Theater Company (Cara Reichel, Producing Artistic Director / Melissa Huber, Managing Director) builds on their education initiative for musical theater students aged 12-17. Beginning Monday, July 9 and running through Saturday, July 28, selected students will participate in a daily musical theater training program from 10am-6pm (Sundays off).

The Broadway Dreams Foundation presented their Third Annual New York Benefit Performance at the Florence Gould Hall (55 East 59th Street) on Monday, November 21, 2011. The special evening, which only happens once a year in NYC, got a spontaneous ovation after a non-stop, 100 minute show, which showed off the talents of BDF students and faculty that assembled from across the country to perform and to show the audience what they were about.
