The New York Musical Festival (NYMF), previously known as The New York Musical Theater Festival, has announced Tony Award winner Jessie Mueller (Waitress, Beautiful - The Carole King Musical) as the 2016 NYMF Honorary Chair. The 2016 New York Musical Festival will be presented from July 11 through August 7 in various venues in Midtown Manhattan.

Ford's Theatre Society today announced the Ford's Theatre cast for the new musical Come From Away, directed by Christopher Ashley. The production features: Geno Carr (Old Globe's Allegiance), Jenn Colella (Broadway's If/Then); Joel Hatch (Broadway's Annie); Rodney Hicks (Broadway's The Scottsboro Boys); Kendra Kassebaum (Broadway's Wicked); Alyssa Wilmoth Keegan (Round House's Cat on a Hot Tin Roof); Chad Kimball (Broadway's Memphis); Lee MacDougall (Wizard of Oz National Tour); Caesar Samayoa (Broadway's Sister Act); Q. LezCab, a non-profit theatre company devoted to creating an accurate and meaningful representation of queer women in order to foster equality and community, will present LezCab Sings the 90s on May 28, 2016 at Le Poisson Rouge. 

BroadwayWorld learned that Caroline Bowman has replaced previously announced Jenn Colella in Vancouver Opera's spring production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's EVITA, running April 30 through May 8, 2016 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. The production also stars Ramin Karimloo as Che.

The 9th season of New York Theatre Barn's New Works Series launches tonight, March 1, 2016 at The Cell. The evening features pre-premieres of two new musicals: Luna and the Gold River Docks and Sapien Sapien Sapien, and also includes a sneak peek of the musical Tink.
