Jeff Young's new play, Bright Phoenix, has its world premiere at the Everyman in October and is inspired by a hidden Liverpool, a version of the city that is unauthorised and often unseen. The production is directed by Serdar Bili?, designed by Ti Green and features Paul Duckworth, Penny Layden, Rhodri Meilir and Cathy Tyson. The play runs from Friday 3 to Saturday 25 October.

Upon entering the performance space, you get a strange feeling. The lights are red and blue, for those of us lucky (or old) enough it's the feeling you got when you looked through a pair of the original 3-D glasses. It makes items take on that yellowish-greenish hue, like it might not be real. The house music was not music as much as a sound that puts you in a meditative state. This was going to be a surreal night ahead.

NDNU Theatre is proud to present the 24th annual production of The Gift: A Christmas Carol the Musical, based on the story by Charles Dickens and featuring an exciting musical score written by Alan Menken, with lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and book by Mike Ockrent and Lynn Ahrens.
